"I stayed here for 2 nights. The staff was amazing. The rooms were comfortable. I liked that the hotel offered self-parking. There were also a few food options close by including a small market. The hotel also has a restaurant on the premises. There is also a coffee stand less than 3 blocks away which opened at 6am. Overall I stayed here since it was centrally located. "

"Island View Guesthouse is a little gem! Their dinning area is quite quaint with an impressive panoramic view of East, South and West Charlotte side of the Island. John and Jerome are great Host, and displayed best in class service. Extremely polite and accommodating. They made my stay comfortable. This is not an invention for future guess to take advantage of them. Just know you will have a comfortable stay. I had dinner here one night. Although quite pricey, the the food and service was impressive. My server Jonathan and another female assistant was very attentive in addessing the removal and addition of my courses. Wait till you see how they clean (if needed) your table as you go through your course. I am from; and dine within NYC. Which is the capital of restaurants and fine dinning of the United States. As for the free complimentary breakfast, it's off the hook! This not your typical Holiday Inn/Marriott complimentary breakfast. Beakfast is cooked and not premade and/or preheated. You'll be very pleased. When you consider the price of your stay, the pricey fine dining (blances out should you choose), the amazing view and impressive breakfast is worth it. Island View will be added to my very short list of place to stay when visiting St. Thomas US Virgin Islands. I provided pics so you can get an idea of what you're experience can be."

"Sunset Gardens was nice enough and I would stay there again, but it was not 5 star accommodations. If you stay at a fancy resort I am guessing you will not experience the idiosyncrasies of island life. We stayed 2 nights and really only slept and showered. The rest of the time we were out exploring. We did have a rental car and never had an issue with parking but it is limited (8 spaces approximately) and I think we were told there were 17 rooms total. I had trouble keeping a consistent water temp in the shower, but my wife had no issues. The island is currently experiencing rolling black outs and you will lose water if the power goes out. There was no backup generator for our unit. We stayed in another AirBnB earlier in the week and I got caught in the shower all soapy with no water. I used a gallon jug of drinking water to rinse off. We never lost power while at Sunset Gardens. A/C worked well. Large spacious room with a balcony with a pretty amazing view of the ocean. It is close to the airport, about 3/4 of a mile up Crown Mountain Road. Finding someone in the office can be tricky so pay attention to their office hours. We were careful to arrive during hours so no issues, but could not find anyone at checkout (10am) so left the key (a real key) on the desk. There are chickens everywhere on the island and you will be awakened by roasters! For the price it was worth what we got and like I said, we would stay again! Thank you Sunset Gardens!"

"The owner responded quickly to any questions which arose. Check-in and check-out were easy. The view from the balcony is wonderful. It is a very steep and windy road to the place. Glad we arrived during daylight. This was our first time to St. Thomas and we did not know how mountainous it is. If renting a car, make sure to get one that can make it up the mountains. You'll need a smaller vehicle (not SUV) to park at this place. Pros: view, neighbors who lived nearby were friendly, kitchen was well equipped (but could use some pot holders), bed was comfortable, designated parking spot. Cons: the sliding doors to the balcony are very heavy and hard to open and close, the backs of the doors where the doorknobs are could use a good cleaning, there is only AC in the bedroom. If you're a light sleeper, bring ear plugs because there are feral chickens that make noise all day and night long and there's a neighbor who leaves for work at 4:30am. Also, we saw a cockroach the first night there, and a few days later we had bugs on the towels. In addition, I think you may have to supply your own shampoo and soap. There was a little bit there when we arrived, but we had to purchase more. Moreover, there isn't a hair dryer. "
