The hotel is located is situated in the capital which is a great and historic area with a nearby ferry, picturesque views, various activities and friendly, helpful locals. "Island View Guesthouse is a little gem! Their dinning area is quite quaint with an impressive panoramic view of East, South and West Charlotte side of the Island. John and Jerome are great Host, and displayed best in class service. Extremely polite and accommodating. They made my stay comfortable. This is not an invention for future guess to take advantage of them. Just know you will have a comfortable stay. I had dinner here one night. Although quite pricey, the the food and service was impressive. My server Jonathan and another female assistant was very attentive in addessing the removal and addition of my courses. Wait till you see how they clean (if needed) your table as you go through your course. I am from; and dine within NYC. Which is the capital of restaurants and fine dinning of the United States. As for the free complimentary breakfast, it's off the hook! This not your typical Holiday Inn/Marriott complimentary breakfast. Beakfast is cooked and not premade and/or preheated. You'll be very pleased. When you consider the price of your stay, the pricey fine dining (blances out should you choose), the amazing view and impressive breakfast is worth it. Island View will be added to my very short list of place to stay when visiting St. Thomas US Virgin Islands. I provided pics so you can get an idea of what you're experience can be."

"The owner responded quickly to any questions which arose. Check-in and check-out were easy. The view from the balcony is wonderful. It is a very steep and windy road to the place. Glad we arrived during daylight. This was our first time to St. Thomas and we did not know how mountainous it is. If renting a car, make sure to get one that can make it up the mountains. You'll need a smaller vehicle (not SUV) to park at this place. Pros: view, neighbors who lived nearby were friendly, kitchen was well equipped (but could use some pot holders), bed was comfortable, designated parking spot. Cons: the sliding doors to the balcony are very heavy and hard to open and close, the backs of the doors where the doorknobs are could use a good cleaning, there is only AC in the bedroom. If you're a light sleeper, bring ear plugs because there are feral chickens that make noise all day and night long and there's a neighbor who leaves for work at 4:30am. Also, we saw a cockroach the first night there, and a few days later we had bugs on the towels. In addition, I think you may have to supply your own shampoo and soap. There was a little bit there when we arrived, but we had to purchase more. Moreover, there isn't a hair dryer. "
