"Top marks to the staff (special thanks to Xavi, Claudia, and Esteban) who made this the best hotel during our trip as their service was with a genuine smile and helpfulness. The rooms are very simple (youth hostel standard) but it is well-kept. The surroundings (lots of birds) are magical and fresh (lovingly-prepared) breakfast and dinner was very good. It is remote (that makes it special) so you do need a car or rely on transport. Highly recommend doing the Green Rivers rafting tour and the Night Tour with Sarapiqui Xperience (all booked via the hotel). "

"Wonderful trip- from as soon as we were picked up by a very helpful driver to our drop-off. The property is incredible - beautiful views of the volcano and cloud forest canopy, stunning trails along waterfalls and river paths, beautiful hummingbirds everywhere and fascinating encounters with frogs (the night tour was fantastic thanks Pablo) and toucans and big cats etc. Rooms are spacious and beautiful with stunning views. The staff are second-to-none, from the helpful front-desk staff (who had a night lunch waiting for us and an early morning breakfast due to our check-in house), to the warm and engaging wait staff, wonderful cleaners and park staff- all very knowledgeable and thoughtful and friendly. We did the white water rafting, zip line which were very fun- excellent guides again. The volcano walk, coffee plantation tour and boat safari were fantastic with a wonderful expert guide (Michael)- crocodile, howler monkeys, sloths, gorgeous birds. We learned a lot. Wish we could have stayed longer, highest of recommendations and thanks to all! "

"Overall it was a nice stay and cleanliness wasn’t an issue. Breakfast was simple but sufficient, although not sure if the milk is up to standard as it gave one traveller a bad stomach. Tap water was also questionable. Staff are really friendly, but limited English so can be difficult to communicate. Grounds were beautiful, some work was going on during the stay. Really close to blue falls. "

"Two nights ago I checked into this hotel after finishing a long white water rafting tour while on my way to San José. The property itself is pretty. It might be fine for people who want to stay on a resort property and not go out to explore the real Costa Rica. For a one night stop, however, this was easily the worst choice of my entire trip. From the moment I pulled into the loading area the process became ridiculous. I checked in, walked all the way to a room at the very back of the property, then had to walk all the way back to reception to ask for something closer. After that I returned to the first room, gathered my things, walked to the new room, then walked back again to return the first key. Then I had to go back to my car, drive to their parking lot, and walk all the way back through the pathways again. It took one hour and twenty minutes just to get into the room. Signage exists, but in several places where you actually need it, it’s missing. I constantly had to ask people for directions. The room had no television and no refrigerator. Every time someone walked past, the entire room shook because four rooms sit on one large platform. I also watched elderly guests and people using canes struggling up the stairs and along the long pathways. I hated my stay here. Anyone with mobility issues should absolutely avoid it."

"Cabins are clean and Well stocked. The cafeteria had good food. The place is well organized. But th highlight was the nature walk. There were so many birds there that I haven’t seen before. "
