Top Sands of Morar Hotel Reviews
Chlachain Inn
8/10 Good
"The staff were super. It was a nice little place for a short stay. Included breakfast was a perk"
Anneth Glamping Pod
10/10 Excellent
"The Anneth Glamping pod is a cozy hut set at a diagonal to a private home close to the Armadale ferry port and Armadale Castle and Gardens. Despite being next to the owner’s home, it is very private as the opening faces a beautiful ocean and hill view. The owner, Colin, is very responsive and helpful but respected our privacy completely. The hut itself is organized very well with a cozy bed, two comfortable armchairs, a modern television and small table. The kitchenette is sufficient with a hot plate, microwave and kettle. The shower is large and comfortable. The little hut wastes no space but on sunny days there is an attached deck with seating and the spectacular views. We found it comfortable for two people but it is not especially spacious. Down the road a short walk is Cafe 1925, with delicious food on from Thursday - Sunday. A few steps beyond is an inn with a cozy pub and a nice dining room. It is close to Armadale Castle and Gardens which is worth a visit as the gardens are lovely, the ruins of the castle are interesting but the Museum of the Isles is the highlights with tons of information on the history of Scotland and the Isles. There is also a nice cafe there. Anneth Glamping pod was a great place to spend our first two days on Skye. It is a good value and the “vibe” is so nice, largely due to the owner’s care given to the design and his friendly welcome. The view is also something quite special."
Loch Shiel Hotel
8/10 Good
"This property sits in an amazing locale, and one that is not necessarily the easiest location to get to either. The route I traveled was miles upon miles of single-track, winding road through amazing, rugged country. The staff were very eager to help me out as they could, when I inquired if they had the laundry service, rather than telling me “no” they offered the use of their own wash facilities. The bar at the inn doubles as a sort of community center, one night was a jovial and impromptu karaoke, the next night was a local community group. A real slice of life."
Morar Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"Fantastic location. Great views of coastline from Restaurant. Close to Mallaig for great seafood restaurants too. Breakfast is very good. Staff were extremely helpful."
Eilean Iarmain
8/10 Good
"This hotel oozed uniqueness. It has many lovely aspects, especially the Staff. We were very impressed with the help of Gillian, her daughters, and Matti, although there were many others who were of great assistance during our stay. The food here is truly memorable. Every meal is a wonderful feast. The sitting room and superb grounds are everything you’d imagine in a destination Country Inn."
West Highland Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"The hotel was beautiful and perfect location with beautiful views. The front desk Bob was wonderful and helpful. The bar server James was very nice. Now the restaurant for dinner was absolutely amazing, from appetizer, main course to desert with Katlyn as our server. But the lounge area was rustic in a very good way which made you feel comfortable. The room was very nice and a great size for bathroom."
Glenfinnan House Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"We were only there a couple of days and wished we could stay longer. The staff are amazing, they made it feel like you were part of the family during your stay. A beautiful old building, lovingly restored…a loch and mountains at the front, deer visiting on the lawn … A roaring fire was lit as we came in one evening, in the main entry hall… we had just had a bit of a rough day, I was not well and they made us tea, while we sat cosied up by the fire… ( whisky was offered ) … they couldn’t do enough for us. Chatted a wee while with us and made sure we were ok. We loved this place will def be going back ."
Toravaig House Hotel

"Outstanding location, very nice hotel, excellent service."
Kilchoan House Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"Fantastic location and hotel and staff were excellent. Stayed in a family room which was spacious and a fantastic view. Had breakfast and dinner both nights and food was good. Takeaway night on Friday was ideal and popular with the locals too. Will definitely book again."
