It was absolutely beautiful. The view from our room was perfect. Parking was perfect. Food was perfect. The manager that signed us in, was the sweetest guy. The lobby is so zen. I can go on and on about this place and the location of it. It was the most peacful get away ever. I have reccomended it to everyone who asked about our trip. I will be coming back everytime I visit San Simeon.

We got to the hotel pretty late so the staff made arrangements for a key lock box and a map w/layout out of the property which was great! However the entire area was pitch black, parking lot, all room lights everything because there was a power outage. When we stumbled in the room of course, no tv, no lights etc. Because of the power outgage of course no wifi and because of the location no cell service. To add insult to injury at nearly midnight...the fire detector was beeping. Had to get my pocket knife out and remove the battery. Now we are in a room with no fire detector, no power, gas heater and no cell service. The staff did make it right after I asked them to comp our breakfast. I picked this place because it was close to Hearst Castle and the beach but the beach was also just meh...we wont be back here.

This Place looks nothing like the pictures. DO NOT STAY HERE. upon arrival, there was homeless wandering in and out of the back parking lot. the building is extremely worn down. the rooms have a scent of musk, and mold. the walls are stained and the bed frame looked uneven and broken. in general very dirty, gross.

We decided to stay last minute at the San Simeon Lodge, check was easy, the staff was very nice. A few updates could stand to be done, but overall a great value!
