"Staff were really excellent - super helpful. Location was a bit outside of the main city centre but the hotel runs free shuttles to/from the city centre on an hourly bases. There is car parking available for a fee. Hotel and room looks a bit dated but has a great view of Sakurajima. Onsen is smaller than what can be seen in the pictures - view of Sakurajima from the bath is unfortunately blocked for privacy reasons. "

"On the top floor of the hotel has a large public bath split into men's and women's sides. You go in there naked and shower before sitting in a giant hot tub. It's amazing.... The hotel also has an incredible breakfast. Make sure that you pay in advance the day before and make a reservation for the next day. It'll blow your mind. It's so good. "An onsen at your room is a plus for that price, but if you are not driving is not recommended. There is no restaurant at the hotel and no public transportation around unless you want to want hour and half to get your dinner (one way)."
