Best place to stay in Safranbolu
A wonderful hotel with an excellent location, the manager and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. I’d highly recommend this hotel

Beautiful property! Perfectly preserved historical house with modern amenities (renovated bathrooms, lovely garden for lounging, etc.). The staff were also wonderful and so kind to our toddler and dog. It does get quite hot in Safranbolu in summer and there was no AC in our room, which wasn’t an issue for us but could be a problem for some. I also would not recommend this hotel (or Safranbolu generally) for anyone with mobility issues. But we had a great stay and I would happily return.

Our family of 4 spent two nights here, and I would highly recommend it to other families. We had a spacious two room suite, with large bathroom, including tub and double sinks. We loved access to the beautiful garden, with sofas in the shade, to relax, read, play cards. The location couldn't be better for exploring the old town. Service was impeccable, from check in, to helping with luggage, serving drinks and anything else we could need. The generous Turkish breakfast was delicious, with strong coffee, homemade preserves, local cheese and much more. The perfect getaway from Ankara, we can't wait to return, tesekkurler!

A pleasant surprise :)
wonderful place, pleasant and comfortable. The interior restauration is excellent, resembles how life would have been in a 100 years old ottoman house ... but you'd find a power plug in the right place, air-conditioning or heating when you need them. I especially loved the door locks, latches and the humongous handles :)

It was wonderful to stay in an Ottoman house in the historical section of Saffranbolu. The bed was comfortable , Room was spacious , warm and interior decorations gave us the feeling we were living in the early 20 th century! The help was excellent and the breakfast to be recommended !

Great location and great service. This awesome hotel is awesome...it blends history with the right amount of renovations. 5 minute wlak to old market, restaurants, coffee shops, etc. Would definitely stay here again.

Really gorgeous hotel and very centrally located. I was going on a boat tour and it's really close to the water. Great area and would stay there again most probably although I might look for a hotel that's a bit more reasonable priced unless sharing the cost with a friend.

The location is perfect for seeing Safranbolu. The hotel itself is beautiful and the bid and wonderful surprise is the garden. It's colorful, relaxing and quiet.

Excellent stay in Safranbolu
We travelled to Safranbolu as a family including kids and older parents. We were really happy with all the services received at Gulevi Hotel. The Hotel is at a great location with really nice rooms. The owner is an architect with great taste. He and his wife decorated all the rooms (in the three separate houses in the hotel) with the works of different world-renowned architects across the globe. The rooms were really comfortable with the authentic nature of Safranbolu houses. I recommend to all who would like to have a nice stay.

Converted old mansion with no creature comforts
This is a converted mansion and comes with all the advantages and disadvantages of such a setup. The mansion has been converted to a hotel as best as it can be but creature comforts one expects in modern hotels are absent. People with sensitivity to mold should avoid such places. As might be expected there are no elevators, no air conditioning, no TV. Internet access is marginal. Heating doesn't work in the summer even though it may be cold. Nonetheless, this is a charming place in a charming town.

Beautiful small hotel but needs a few improvements
Stylish, design led boutique hotel. Ibrahim, the owner, is an architect and the renovation of the houses shows this. I thought the lighting in our room could be better and I also think that every hotel should now provide a multi plug as many people have several devices to charge. There was only one accessible socket in the room, which is always a pain. The internet was slow and patchy. The major gripe was the blanket cover. It is the same size as the bed so you really have to be still to stay covered, but the absolute worst was the Velcro strip running down the side of the cover. So hard and scratchy, that it just seemed to be an incredible oversight for a place where clearly a lot of thought has gone into everything. The breakfast was really good, the garden is beautiful, the location is perfect, the staff are helpful and the owners are interested in you. Conclusion, lovely place but needs a little more care with the basics.

Good points - Unique ottoman-style room with attention to details - It has a lovely garden and a dinning room which serves excellent breakfast - Warm, gentle and helpful staffs - Convenient yet quiet location Needs improvement - Room was too dark & too COLD, especially at night (we suspect the heater is broken) Overall, me and my husband really enjoyed staying at this hotel and we would love to go back in the future. Thank you so much for your warm hospitality & wonderful experience.

The hotel is located at the heart of the old town. The buildings and the garden are in excellent shape. The restoration and the decoration are done very tastefully. The owners are very nice and helpful. Highly recommended.

Beautiful place in Safranbolu's historical centre. Room in a typical 150-year-old Ottoman house. Very friendly and helpful staff, good food. Highly recommended

The owners of this little Ottoman hotel make sure you feel the wormth and coziness of this hotel. The rooms are very nice and the beds are comfortable, if only they added ceiling fans to allow for a better night's sleep, especially in August.
