"The rooms are dated and need some repair. When ordering food they put the service and government tax on the food which is fine, but when you check out they again hit you with the 2 taxes. The staff are nice and friendly. "

"This hotel is absolutely beautiful and the people working there are even better. We arrived late at night, due to flight delays and were greeted with two friendly staff members who had everything ready for us. They helped to book cheap transportation, get change for us to pay for transport and the breakfast was great. The location is alright, it's quite the walk to the beach though so a quick transportation seems to be the way to go. Overall we loved the stay there."

"Excellent resort to stay near the beach. Morning buffet was great with open air views of the beach. WiFi and tables available under trees on the beach. 24hr kitchen for room service - which is great for jet lagged arrivals. No Bali belly, so the food was safely prepared - including a wide variety of fresh cut fruit.
In the room, I saw a few bugs (centipede, roach variety); nevertheless everything was very clean. it’s a tropical island with favorable conditions for them to survive; and having lived in hot and humid environments, I assume it’s likely an ongoing battle no matter how clean a place may be. The grounds are gorgeous with lots of greenery and trees along the paths from the lobby, villa rooms, pools, restaurant and beach. The beach has a paved walkway that allows easy access for people, child strollers/ prams, and bicycles to find various restaurants, resorts and shopping. The Genius cafe is on the beach next to the Mercure. I would easily stay here again. "
"This place is so cute! Very vintage-retro vibes, cool old gigantic bathtub in the room, nice pool and cafe area. I felt relieved that the price-point was affordable. It's on a quiet alley but right near the main street so you can easily walk to yoga, the beach, cafes, and groceries. "
"Can’t fault our stay in any way. The facilities were extensive, the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, the food was varied and delicious, and the room was spacious and clean. Plenty of activities for children. Ability to use the facilities of the Hyatt next door. The beach is on your doorstep. Plenty of things to do outside of the hotel, with the centre of Sanur, and the ICON Bali shopping centre a short walk away."
"Although Expedia mismanaged our room booking for the hotel. In essence despite numerous confirmations there was no room available for us at the Holiday Inn and the hotel had no evidence that Expedia had contact with them about our booking. Everyone at the Holiday Inn went above and beyond their duties to successfully accommodate us at the Inter Continental Hotel while the error in communication was sorted out. The next day we were effectively and efficiently transferred to the Holiday Inn for the rest of our stay. We were treated exceptionally well by all of the staff there and the level of service could not be improved on. A five star thank you to all members of staff at the Holiday Inn😁😁😁😁😁"
"Villa Puri Ayu has a lot going for it:
It's in a pretty good location. You're just outside the busiest area of Sanur so you won't get a lot of foot traffic, but you're close enough to walk toward that area (and the mall) if you really want to (30-ish minute walk). There's quite a few shops to buy souvenirs and a supermarket nearby. Breakfast is provided and is pretty good but had the same dishes. Plenty of restaurants nearby, and my room had a functional kitchen with a medium sized fridge. The rooms are spacious, there are a few pools to swim/sunbathe.
Honestly overall really good at their price point, but there are a few things that may affect your decision to stay here:
The air conditioning in room was pretty weak, it can feel a bit warm/humid throughout the day in the villa, especially when the sun is out. Had some trouble sleeping because of this.
Some things are a bit worn/old. It took a lot of effort to lock my door every time I leave since it doesn't line up properly without some adjusting, and my bathroom door was creaky and noisy to open.
The road it is on does not lead directly to the beach, you'll need to walk around another way.
Not a whole lot of service from the staff, no phone in room to call the front desk either.
In summary, it's excellent value but can be pretty different from a typical hotel/resort stay."
