Royal Marine Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"Stayed for couple of nights in rm 19 which was modernised and had a Bluetooth mirror in the bathroom which made my day. Bed was comfy, room was clean, large tv for whoever is interested in this, kettle, plenty coffee and tea. Roo. Was quiet, location just across from the ferry, the building itself was stunning. Electric heaters in the room and you can adjust the temperature and a fan for cooling down. I haven't used the bar or restaurant. I have asked if they served meals and been told 'is one of those things', I like clear answers, so I decided to eat out. I have travelled there for work, beautiful scenery, but Dunoon in itself it's not a place I would return. Overall, I enjoyed my stay at the hotel, can't fault a single thing, the price was convenient for what they provided. Took one star of as 'it's one of those things' answer. They could clearly be more organised on the meals side."

"Eccellent staff always helpful, room was always kept clean, we had to request more heat for the room and that was attended too. the buffet breakfast had a good choice of food although for the eater that did not take much it could be an expensive breakfast. Dinner in the Cruise restaurant was vey good but menu was the same every night. Waiting staff were always very helpful. On arrival the television was faulty but this was rectified the same day. Although the weather varied we did enjoy our stay."

"The room was lovely and warm, clean and modern . A nice welcome on arrival and the staff seemed well trained and polite. The food was adequate but not great if you’re looking for something special . Very usefully , half portions offered on some meals if you don’t want a huge helping. Perfectly fine for me just passing through."

"The friendliness of the staff is top-notch and everywhere is so clean. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because there was a lack of vegan awareness. Although my meal on the first night was tasty it didn't include any protein. There were no vegan wines available but they kindly let me bring some vegan wine I had in the car in to have with my meal. They certainly made up for this by providing avocado, oat milk and a vegan yoghurt for breakfast - this effort was really appreciated. Thank you."
