Stayed here for one night looking for a comfy bed a bit of food, shower and WiFi.
Check in was ok - they had a red and a white sherry in a complementary bucket outside reception. Would have been a much better experience for the reception folks to offer the drink to guests?! The white sherry turned out to be pretty horrid, I don't understand how even that drink's creator could possibly love it, maybe that's why they were awkward. Sunset was pretty on their outside deck.
Rooms were a bit dated. It was nice to have two twin+ sized beds pushed together to make a bigger-than-king bed, but the mattresses and pillows didn't lead to the best sleep.
The Gaviota bar offered some interesting tapas, we got the Artichoke and a plate of 'old Manchego'. Unfortunately the Manchego seemed like it had been left out all day or was just pieces from the rind. I'm not a Manchego connoisseur, but my significant other is, we were partly in Spain for a cheese tour. It was very disappointing to get that plate - she didn't even eat it after the first couple of bites. I asked the waitress if they had a plate that was freshly cut from the block, or just the block itself... Nothing. That was disappointing customer service.
Bathtub did the trick, and the WiFi worked well enough. I went for a swim in the morning, beach is ok, water was not clear, but nice temps. Shower heads calcified.
Decent price, but didn't delight, a bit overrated.
