How can I rate a place where I wasn’t able to stay at?! When we arrived at the hotel after a red eye flight to Rome, we were told that we were “upgraded” and would be staying at The Hive (which I’m assuming same management or something). However, when we got to The Hive, the front desk receptionist was rude saying as she could not find my name in the system and even though I explained multiple times we were booked for the Augusta, I had to show my receipt for proof. Then she said our room wasn’t available and that check in time is anytime after 2pm. It was already past 2, closer to 3pm. This all happened after waiting in line for 30 minutes. I walked back to Augusta and the front desk there was nicer as one of the gentleman called over to talk to the manager at The Hive. Walked back to The Hive to only be told that a deluxe room with one bed was available even though I already requested for two beds. Pretty much was told that because of their cruise clients, which seemed much more important, were checking in and there wasn’t a room available. The manager went on the system and finally got us a room with 2 beds, which was a very basic room. Did not understand this “upgrade” other than probably getting shifted due to overbooking. This whole back and forth and the surprise of being shifted to another hotel was extremely frustrating. This was all for one night in Rome before our flight. Very disappointed with the changes and the lack of communication.
