This is the perfect location for a good price in Kyoto. It seems to be a recent construction, as the materials and finishes look modern and new. Miyako Hotel Kyoto Hachijo
The room was spacious (we got upgraded, which was a plus!) wonderful shower, and the blackout curtains were great. The beds were a little more firm than I’m used to, but overall, it was a wonderful stay!

Nohga Hotel Kiyomizu Kyoto
The room was beautiful, well appointed and very clean. The restaurant staff were wonderful and very attentive. My only comment would be that the front desk staff felt a little indifferent at times. All in all we really enjoyed our stay.
