We were advised by a team member not to stay with a child as it would be “extremely loud” until 1am due to live music, our room was directly above this event so not a family friendly event, that aside the room was spacious and we tried to stay positive, my wife went to unpack and there was and probably still is 2 pair of worn underpants in the drawer, also there was no tissue in the toilet which we discovered after our little boy had visited the toilet

My shower allocated to my room had again no hot water, and on full power it was a dribble. Light was out in the bathroom too. Tried calling for 24 hours prior to arrival, no one picked up the phone at all. Ended up turning up coming through a back door and waited inside the pub until someone showed up. After travelling from another country and being delayed it would have been great to have been received properly, had a hot and a shower that works. Really disappointed.

THE ROOMS WERE BASIC, BUT AT £65 that was expected. however toilet seat was broken, flush was broken, window in room was broken with a quarter inch gap to the out side letting in cold air all night, radiator in room had a faulty thermostat and could not be turned on, bed side lamps did not work, nothing in the room had been pat tested. then to top it all the stairs were dark and carpeted in dark black, which resulted in a bad fall, which was not put into any accident book, i was however asked if i required a cup of tea. i would not recommend others to stay here. it is cheap for a reason.

Cheap but very poor
Good price but reflected in the quality of the stay. Room had a smell explaining why the window was open on arrival (in Nov). Dirty used glasses in the bathroom, no hot water, dirty shower tray, mould on the walls, wallpaper peeling off.

Party place. Lots of noise till 1AM
Initially booked 2 nights (Fri and Sat) only to find out the pub becomes a night club from 20:00 to 01:00 AM. In fact, only when you receive the confirmation email it's when it says the pub has loud music until 1 AM. The DJ was exactly underneath my room and the whole structure shook with the bass vibration of electronic music. Anyways, apart from that my room was very clean and comfy. One of the beds was nor straight but the other was fine. Despite the bathroom was separate it was private and quite clean and cosy as well. If it wasn't for the loud music the place would be perfect. Also, staff was very friendly and helpful and let me cancel the last night (fully refunded) even though the policy wouldn't let me do so. Thank you so much

This should not be advertised as a hotel, the rooms were disgraceful, there was mould on the walls the ceiling was flaking away, there was dozens of dead flies in the light fitting, there was also a terrible smell of damp. we have stayed in many hotels over the years, and I have to say this has to be the worst we have stayed in, how this can be rated a 3 star hotel I will never know.

Very friendly staff, and great value. Although decor is a little tired, as you might expect at this price point, the room and bathroom were spotlessly clean. Older visitors and those with disabilities should note that there are stairs everywhere and no lifts (to be fair this is a 17th Century coaching inn) and although your bathroom will be private to you, it may not be en-suite and could be down the corridor (and a couple of stairs). Free onstreet parking is available 6pm to 8am.

This hotel is closed.
This hotel has been closed since November. Despite this the owners continue to allow you to book and take your money. They do not respond to emails or phone and have taken no steps to advertise the fact that they are closed. Stay well away.

Don't stay in a pub
Lovely family room but very cold due to old windows. WiFi was intermittent in the room and TV didn't work. The toilet also runs off an old pump system which caused the appearance of being blocked and kept backing up but then went down after a while. Then the next morning when we went to use the shower the shower head was broke and nearly flooded the bathroom and therefore unable to be used. No staff on site in the morning to advice so upon our return 2hrs later, informed the manager who was in another hotel, which we had to around to speak there. Couple of days later he called me and agreed to give me a part refund as a gesture of good will! I am satisfied it was sorted in the end but just disappointed that our 1 family night away was a bit a let down.

Room 1 looked nice on arrival but was chilly radiators did not turn up. Plenty of tea coffee etc. Bathroom was tired paper coming off the wall and toiletry holders rusted. Seat moved on the toilet when you sat on it. Shower very small my husband could not fit in ! Any bigger than a ladies size 16 your washing in the sink. The shower door did not shut and the seal was broken and blacken arond the bottom of the shower doors. Extremely noisy with the disco and overlooked the beer garden. Shouting and full conversations could be heard until after 1am. Emma loved her little brother and would pick up her stuff in 10 minutes. Not ideal for a couples getaway great if your a part animal tho.

Will be using this hotel again next year. Great night, lovely room just needed a minor repair to window. Not for anyone that likes an early night but great for anyone that likes to PARTY!!! No breakfast but Weatherspoons is only a short walk away.

The one night stay was the worst sleep and experience I've ever had in any hotel in the world. Despite their being not one single customer in the bar on a sunday evening, they still played music till 1am. This was really loud in the room. We asked them to turn it down, they did for a few minutes only. The room was on a slant, in bed your head is much lower than your feet which is a weird feeling. Tried to contact the owners since and they have refused to reply. Avoid at all costs.

When checked in the staff member gave a tour of the building to show entrances/exits and walked me to the room and then showed all the amenities. This is unusual in todays world so it was a very welcome change and he was very pleasant and friendly. The room was exactly as described and comfortable and clean. Fantastic price for the room and its comfort and layout.

Room clean and adequate but the noise from the bar below which had an excessively loud disco was horrendous and continued blaring until gone midnight. This ruined an otherwise pleasant stay
