"The staff behind the bar and who worked in the restaurant were very friendly. The room was a good size and there was nice view from our window. Breakfast was brought to your room rather than in the restaurant, this was different and gave the option for having breakfast in bed. The only downside was that the door for the stairwell at the end of the hallway kept slamming. This door was next to our room which was quite frustrating."

"Only a one night stay. Efficient and friendly staff. Good food. Parking no problem. Room was ok, but the bed was 'springy'. It needed a new mattress. But I would stay there again, for sure."

"Very warm welcome from Mark & Lyndsay. Our room was well equipped and comfortable with a fabulous view over the countryside. We ate lunch there which was excellent & had a good breakfast the following morning. Really quiet location with great road links to the A1 & A66. Highly recommended."

"We were made very welcome by the new owners, they have only been operating for three weeks, Our room was clean and tidy with good views of Richmond and the Castle. We did not eat at the hotel as we had made other arrangements for dinner. The owner hopes to have a new menu to present shortly after changes are made to the kitchen and dining area as you would expect from new ownership."
