The hotel room was very spacious and comfortable. Staff pleasant and helpful. Being across from the bus station meant there were so questionable happenings around the area. I probably wouldn’t have ventured out but myself, but as a couple I never felt unsafe.

This is essentially a bar & restaurant with sleeping accommodations. The staff was great, and the food was wonderful, but if you're looking for a full-service hotel (we weren't), you might find it disconcerting that there's no staff after the bar closes. It's conveniently located near the train station, and only a few blocks from the casino hotels. Our only "complaint" was that the heating/air conditioning control was overly complicated, and the TV streaming would frequently stop, buffer, then restart.

Cute hotel near downtown; Be wary of the location
Cute hotel in downtown. The location to nearby things is nice, without having to stay in a Casino, if you don't like that (which is our main driver) The place itself is relatively nice. It does not have an elevator, which isn't a requirement for us. The room we had was fairly spacious. The heat in the room was a little odd though, as it was one of the single-wall units that didn't seem to match what the thermostat was set to (we had to crank it up a bit). This hotel doesn't have a traditional reception desk like most larger hotels, so it felt like more of an Airbnb experience. The coffee shop/bar down below was a nice addition, though they close pretty early for a bar. The noise outside didn't bother us, but we are relatively used to living on a busier street. Most of the noise outside wasn't during sleeping hours anyway. This hotel is situated near a few charities/food pantries, as well as public transportation, so expect a good deal of people walking near the hotel, many of whom are homeless. While virtually none of them should give you anything to worry about, we did have a couple of odd encounters and heard a few arguments outside of our room. None were problematic, but it did add a bit of stress.

Cool Wild West vibe
Cute room... a whole lot more character than at some anonymous hotel-casino. A very comfortable bed. Only issue was street noise. The hotel does provide you with earplugs, though.

Stylish boutique hotel with great restaurant downstairs. Limited reception hours but very accommodating and friendly staff. I’ve stayed twice and service and cleanliness consistent both times. Spacious rooms. Neighborhood is a little edgy but close to everything.

This is a fantastic pet-friendly property with outstanding bar and dining. We had so much fun with all the friendly folks here. It was a real party! The hotel has an antique vintage vibe with contemporary amenities and furnishings. Pets are welcome in the bar and dining room so it’s as pet-friendly as it gets. There’s no elevator, but the friendly staff is glad to help with. arraying baggage. Fabulous place!

The Jesse had beautiful rooms but seemed to be operated by people passionate about bars/restaurants and not the hotel industry at all. No staff members are in the building from 10 pm to 7/8 am. The entire bottom floor is a bar/restaurant that blasts music until 10 pm. I was not going to be too early on this trip, but if you're looking for a hotel to relax or get an early night's sleep, look elsewhere. Will not stay again.

Beautiful hotel, gorgeous bar. The room was fantastic and very beautifully designed. Had drinks at the bar and the staff was warm, young, hip. There's many homeless people around and the area is somewhat desolate. It was a very noisy night full of yelling, outbursts, and general street noise. I hope the area changes for the better because there are some great bars and restaurants around. All in all, it was a fun stay!

I booked and cancelled the property all done in an hour ( without any refund) because when I got to the property, I do not feel safe. Homeless people all over the street and parking lot is next to the hotel. That means I have to park the car and walk with my big luggage to enter the hotel in the night. I do not recommend this hotel at all.

Our stay in the Bell room was wonderful and the decor, facilities and comfort exceeded many 4 star hotels we have stayed at. The location is central and the on site parking great. Don’t be put off by the homeless people nearby-they are everywhere in Reno. There is street noise but with the windows shut it wasn't an issue. This is a boutique hotel with a gorgeous bar and a pretty outdoor garden bar so do not expect the type of facilities like the chain hotels. It was perfect for us in all respects.

The hotel is great, the neighborhood is not so
This is a great place for a stay in Reno! The rooms are really spacious and have great design. There is a really cool bar that converts into a coffee shop in the morning. Really nice patio and sitting area in the "lobby". However, the hotel is located next to the bus station which is not a problem during the day, but was quite unpleasant to walk by at night. The street was quite noisy during night hours- not an ideal situation for a light sleeper.

If u want a good vibe, this is the hotel
This isn’t your typical hotel. If you want that, my suggestion would be to go somewhere else. The Jesse Hotel & bar is a different vibe. There’s no check in desk like at regular hotels. You check in @ the coffee/cocktail bar. Room was great and roomy, especially the bathroom. Service was great, I got their early and one of the cleaning ladies offer to put my stuff in my room. Also, there is no elevator, just stairs. There’s plenty to eat at the hotel or around. Area around the hotel wasn’t the greatest, but it didn’t take away. Your just walk away from downtown Reno as well. Overall great experience and would stay there again.

The check in was confusing because it was at the bar. The neighborhood was loud, scary and not safe. The food at the bar was good and the staff was friendly. The outdoor seating area was nice but nowhere for the dog to go to the bathroom. The sink in our bathroom leaked pretty bad. It made me nervous leaving my car parked in the parking lot due to the bad area of town we were in. I didn't like that they didn't have staff onsite during the night incase something happened.

Great new option in downtown Reno
The rooms are spacious and clean. There were plug-in/usbs on either side of the bed. Nice bar with a large selection of spirits to hang out in downstairs with very friendly staff and amazing tacos at night and fantastic coffee options (and pie) in the morning. Also, great brewery options just across the street. Fairly quiet despite being across from the bus depot and next to the ballpark. This neighborhood is mid-gentrification, so if you decide to walk around, expect to encounter the unhoused, but you regularly see other people and police cars patrolling so it is generally safe to walk around at night. As in any city, you should always remain aware of your surroundings. Highly recommend, especially if you are tired of the casino-hotel options. Loved hanging out downstairs and making friends with locals and the bartenders.

Great experience! We come to this area a couple times a year to visit family near South Tahoe . Last trip, I was alone and my flight was delayed. I arrived at 1 am totally unprepared and stayed in a shady dump. This trip, I planned for a delay and booked at The Jesse. My husband and I arrived an hour before check in. They secured our bags, while we took a walk, and put them in our room when it was ready. Fabulous customer service! Room was even better than the picture. And, if you're going to an Ace's game, the field is only two blocks away. As in any metropolitan city, you will see some homeless while walking about. Would definitely stay again! The Jesse will be our "go to" overnight transition from the long and unpredictable east coast flight.

Jesse sits downtown in Reno. Check in is sketchy after 9pm as desk is closed,food is closed, bar is closed. No elevator so you have to carry stuff up 3 floors. Rooms are fantastic! They are considerate enough to supply ear plugs. You will need them! Street traffic noise is real issue

The Jesse is a unique and cool place. I’ve never stayed at such an urban gem. The owner (s) did a great job renovating a maybe 100 year old building. I wish I could have filled my coffee travel thermos but all the doors to the common areas were locked — I guess I left before staff was on site to open. I think another reviewer suggested a shelf under the bathroom mirror. That would be a convenience improvement. I loved the place and am already recommending it to friends. It’s a special place.

Hip Boutique Hotel on Brewers Row
The staff reached out well in advance of check-in so I could ask questions, confirm my arrival time, etc. This made my late check-in a breeze when I did arrive. The room was neat, was bigger than pictured, and the neighborhood had a good vibe. We had an early check-out, and the directions for that process were also made clear and the process was very easy. We want to return so we can explore the area more and take advantage of some of the hotel’s amenities.

It was an amazing room and the people were very nice. But the noise at night made it exceedingly difficult to sleep, even with the earplugs they provided. But overall it was very nice.

DO NOT STAY HERE! This self designated "boutique hotel" is unsafe and dangerous! STOLEN PERSONAL PROPERTY AND THE HOST TAKES NO RESPONSIBILITY! We parked in the PRIVATE parking lot of The Jesse and had our $5k eBikes stolen, even double locked with a BRINX. This property is a different atmosphere than portrayed. Although a charming courtyard and bar, we had to receive our key from...the bartender. First red flag. No mention that the stairs to our room are EXTREMELY STEEP. Upon entering the room, it seemed hip enough, with the bed being comfortable and the tall brick walls felt like a loft. The bathroom door, however, has a clear glass panel on it, so while in the shower, if the room door is left ajar, the shower and toilet are completely exposed to the stairwell. Earplugs are necessary as there is constant yelling and screaming from the extensive transient population heading to the bus station next door. Cleanliness is also an issue for this room. With a layer of dust oN things like the window sills, where you can sit, to the foot stool and even the bathroom sink had a layer of grime from the previous guest. White socks show no floor cleaning between guests. We left after checking in and did not arrive back to the hotel until 9:20pm, to find the building completely dark and locked. We received no warning or were advised of this. We finally found a door, with a metal graffiti plate. This was the key pad? Stepping around an addict yelling at us while entering was NOT FUN.
