"If you're debating whether to visit Matera as a day trip or stay overnight, this hotel alone is reason enough to stay. We loved every moment and would return in a heartbeat. Sextantio Le Grotte Della Civita in Matera was one of the most unique and unforgettable hotels we've ever stayed in. The property is a beautifully restored series of caves that blend old-world charm with just the right amount of modern comfort, making you feel like you've stepped back in time while still having everything you need. The staff went above and beyond throughout our stay.. from arranging pickup at the parking garage to carrying our luggage to our room, to being incredibly communicative before and during our visit. Dinner and breakfast at the on-site restaurant were both stunning, and after five trips to Italy, we can honestly say the breakfast spread and setting here might be the best we've ever had in the country. - Matt & Monique"

"Staff was very helpful in all matters from setting up dinner reservations and in room massages to immediate attention to equipment malfunction we experienced. We did the private suite with pool,sauna, and steam shower in room and it was amazing! Once in a lifetime experience!in room"

"The view from the door entrance was outstanding probably the best part of this hotel. Breakfast was also great with good and plenty to choose from. Didn't know the spa was separately charged so cannot say it was a great feature. Wifi could be better. We walked down to the hotel but suggest to ask for the shuttle which was very nice."

"Très propre , personnel efficace, bon déjeuner , Le seul bémols très loin de emplacement du stationnement faut prévoir faire affaire avec hôtel un taxi une durée de 8 minutes pour amener vos valises à Hôtel ou ramener vers stationnement au vous quitter , pas le choix . Montant est 20$ Chaque jours stationnement et taxi environ 15 $Mais je recommande fortement cette hôtel lits très confortable . Matera ce visite en 2 a 3 jours seulement tout dépends votre lieu d'arriver vers Matera ."

"Gattini bills itself as a 5 star hotel. My partner and I would not normally pay the extra amount that that 5th star seems to require, but we were desperate to have a refuge from the August heat in Matera at the end of the day … and staying at Gattini was a great decision. It really is quite wonderful and didn’t seem so expensive once we experienced all the good things that Gattini offered. The breakfast was the best we had in 51 days of travel in Spain Portugal and then Italy. Our thanks to the great staff for a great experience in Matera."

"I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff were extremely polite, friendly, and always willing to help, making me feel welcome throughout my visit. The room was clean, spacious, and very comfortable. The breakfast was amazing, with a great variety of delicious options to choose from. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable stay."
