"Great location on the Moonstone Beach. Having stayed here before many years ago, was a little disappointed with the new 'breakfast' offering. No proper air-conditioning in the room, so would be challenging in the summer. The staff were fantastic."

"My husband and I stayed one night because we were going to Hearst Castle the following day. The room was dated, but we slept well. There isn’t any AC because you are across from the ocean and the breeze. The hotel supplied our room with a fan that worked nicely. A drawback is there are no elevators. So if you are someone that has difficulty climbing stairs, make sure you have a 1st floor at booking. The area is very pleasant."

"Great stay! I love this place - charming, clean, quaint, and across the street from the beach. The small fridge in the room was great for small snacks, and parking is easy. The water pressure in the shower was a bit low this visit, but that's the first I noticed it. The fire pits in the evening are lovely as well."

"The staff was very helpful accommodating my dog and brother on the ground floor (they don't do stairs). The location is very good for sightseeing at Hearst Castle, the Elephant Seal habitat, Piedras Blancas lighthouse and the southern end of the Big Sur coastline. It's an easy drive up Highway One to San Dollar Beach and Los Padres Forest trails to the North. To the south it's a short drive to Cambria and Moonstone Beach. Be sure to walk the coastal trail in Fiscarelli Reserve. I like staying in San Simeon because of the beauty of the coast, catching sunsets and the chance to see the descendants of Hearst's zebras grazing at dusk near San Simeon State park."
