Huaqi Kaiserdom Hotel
Couldn’t sleep well because the room smells bad from the sewer or toilet. Also, there were some dust at corners of the room and some particles showed around the sink

KaiyueHostel
Really cute and “real” hotel with history and lovely service, even in English. Also quite central location in QD for lovely walks and pretty much everything.. Uphill and maybe without elevator (check), if you have walking problems

Mercure Qingdao Downtown
They do not allow foreigners to stay at this hotel chain any longer. They would not let me check in despite having made a reservation.

Huanghai Hotel
There was a mix-up with my reservation confirmation but the staff were very accommodating and friendly and worked hard to make things right. I would recommend people stay there and would definitely stay there again if the opportunity arose.
