"This hotel is ideally situated, away from the crowds and stalls, so you will be able to enjoy the beach in peace. Rooms are spacious and extra roll away beds are provided on request. Staff are SUPER helpful and are always around with a smile on their faces, eager to help. Room service and other services exceptional! The complimentary breakfast is prepared with care and we enjoyed the huge variety of tasty delicacies they prepared every morning. The only drawback are the open shower areas where you are supposed to wash away the sand after a dip in the ocean. They should upgrade and do a better job of cleaning up this area. Also, the majestic view of the bay from the balcony is somewhat dampened by the sight of litter that is dumped along the side walls of the hotel. We enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this hotel for a family get away."

"Excellent location for Puri and the close by beaches. Our room had a partial view of the sea.
The staff are excellent and went beyond means to make us feel comfortable !
The restaurant food is North Indian and good. We are there almost everyday. Restaurant staff too are polite.
Just a note I want to mention: A bath May would have helped in the bathroom as senior people find it hard to get out of the shower with wet feet and could be dangerous.
Also, we were 3 adults in one room and the resort charges for the extra adult to be in the room, however the amenities are not of 3 people. There are only 2 cups and tea/coffee sachets are only two. Bottled water is two bottles so perhaps this can be accommodated for 3 people."

"Pluses of our stay were -- the rooms are very spacious and well maintained, housekeeping was good. Ambience is very good and the staff are very polite.
Cons was the quality of service in the Samudra restaurant. The staff seem rather new and green. They were not as efficient and prompt as I have experienced in other hotels belonging to the same category. We ordered some biryani for lunch and I could see the food arrived and sat on the counter for almost 10 minutes before it was brought to the table. At breakfast the staff seemed to get confused and would confirm orders multiple times. I asked for filter coffee and was told that it is available, waited for 10 mins and then when I asked again was told that it was not available!! Someone could have easily come and told me it wasn't there and I would have asked for something else. Also except for the chicken biryani, the rest of the food, especially the breakfast spread was rather mediocre, especially if one compares it to the Mayfair Bhubaneswar food which is excellent.
Also I was disappointed with our room. I had booked 2 months in advance and had asked for a beach view room. What they gave us had a beach view from one part of the balcony only. When I asked for a full beach view room they said that they were fully booked. I wish they had said that when I booked and I would have relooked at my dates for stay.
So overall a rather mixed experience - mostly pleasant, relaxing, but the hotel really needs to up its food. "
"Checkin did not offer welcome drink nor mentioned it. Overall staff responsiveness was lacking. Called room service at 6:00 AM for coffee and no one answered for a while. When it was answered we were told that they ran out of milk. First time I am hearing a hotel saying they do not have milk which is very basic.

"This hotel is not what it claims to be and is at best a Yatri Niwas for the numerous Yatris that throng Puri. I had made a reservation about 10 days ago paying all costs for 2 days of stay. I had a official conference in Puri ending around the same time. My brother was supposed to join me from my home town of Cuttack. I went in the morning to complete the check in Since I am an Odia staying in Delhi, U started conversing in Odia. Don't know whether this was a let down, coz I checked in and left to my conference hotel to complete the same. My brother checked in at 11 am. I completed my conference and came back to the hotel to the room now allotted to my brother. The room was shaby , half done and looked like the one which they give to drivers accompanying family on trip for night stay. The intercom was not working. We were given unsealed ordinary water. This got my goat and I called the reception from my mobile. After giving them an earful on the shabby room and services, one of the team leader appeared at our door step. After I told him that I will not stay unless there is a change in my room, he managed to give me a decent room.
Pathetic service, bad infrastructure and the inability to treat guests with a service attitude is what charaterises this hotel while charging premium tariff . What was supposed to be a good memories for us brothers catching up after 2 and half years turned out to be a sour memory.
Avoid at all costs!"
