"This place is beautiful and well-kept. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and they did allow us to order from the menu after the first few days. We were there five nights. Our room said it had a kitchenette but there was only a coffee maker and mini fridge. Our second room did have a microwave. We had to switch rooms because on the third night we were lying in bed and saw bed bugs! We thought we had been getting bit by mosquitos but it turns out it was bed bugs! Luckily the manager took our call at 9pm and moved us to a different room. We had no trouble for the last two nights. Overall it was a great stay. The only thing that would make it better would be to offer drinking water. We had to ask to have our water bottles filled every day and ended up just buying some."

"Captain Jak's took great care of my wife and me during our recent stay. The staff were incredibly kind, our room was tidy and comfortable, and the housekeeping staff did a great job. We were pleasantly surprised at the amenities we had available to us - we found out we had free access to bicycles during our stay, and we were able to book a private shuttle from Placencia to Belize City at the last minute for a very competitive price. The room had excellent air conditioning, and the location was great for exploring downtown Placencia and visiting the beach. We were also able to get our clothes washed for a fee, and the staff took care of everything, even folding our laundry adn returning it to our room while we were out. Our only issues during our stay were that the Wi-Fi was a bit slow and that it was unfortunate that the room did not have any pantry staples, like salt/pepper, cooking oil, sugar, etc. We weren't able to take full advantage of the kitchen without these, unfortunately."

"My husband and I visited in January 2026 and had the most AMAZING and memorable honeymoon. The staff was wonderful and so helpful from the time we booked until the day we left. Every single person we encountered was kind, welcoming, and helpful. The people who picked us up from the airport (our flight got in a couple of hours early) came within 10 minutes to pick us up early after we called and they offered us a local beer (or water). We were welcomed at the property with a glass of champagne and warm smiles. Every excursion we requested was booked for us and confirmed the day before so we knew where to go and when we would be picked up. They offered recommendations any time we asked and even helped to rent us a golf cart for a day. Oh and they got us VIP service when we went to The Yatch Club for drinks and appetizers our last night. Every night we were greeted with a special note. The spa upstairs and restaurant as well as the poolside bar were all incredible. The property was clean and well kept. They had a water dispenser with filtered water. I loved the soap, shampoo and conditioner. The rooms were beautiful with amazing views of the sea. The location couldn’t have been better. We could walk to everything. The Ellysian really made a long lasting impression on us and we will be forever grateful for all they did to make our honeymoon unforgettable. THE SEA GLASS INN

"I can't say enough about the Sea Glass Inn and the Maloney's. We were met at arrival by Tom, one of the owners. He has alot of knowledge about pretty much everything you might want to do in Placencia. From places to eat to excursions you might want to take. They set up transportation for us from the local airport, a car rental fo r our road trip, and even scheduled our excursions! They truly go above and beyond at the Sea Glass. The hotel itself is newly remodeled, clean and beautiful, with a lot of personal touches. To top it off, if you're a dog lover, this is your place. Piper, Rigatoni and Alfredo are perfect additions to the laid back Placencia vibe."
