Staff was great! A bit on the bougie side, room was ok could have been better.. food was good.. pool was closed at 6pm everyday very disappointing i even had to tell a security guard to back off when telling us to exit the pool, because we took to long to exit because i was making sure my kids got out with me.. make sure to take all your necessities because cost for things on resort are ridiculous i had to buy a bottle of sunscreen for 35 dollars cause we needed it and didn't have transport to go out into town..

Garden Suires Melia was an amazing hotel that provided an amazing experience for us first time visitors of the Dominican Republic. I cannot speak highly enough of the courteous staff that made sure our needs were attended to. The array of activities made our stay even that more adventurous. Sad part was having to leave as time is never on your side when you are having fun.

It was a beautiful property, but is on the older side and needs some maintenance. My biggest concern was that they had a whole set of activities we didn't know about for several days. It was hard only online and hard to get to and NO ONE told us about the calendar at check-in. The concierge promised restaurant reservations that weren't made, but we did get in eventually bercause the hostess took pity on us.

This property is so old and dirty, we found cockroaches every single day, we traveled with our 2yo son and it was terrible to be worried all the time about this. We changed our room but it didn't stop. Plus, they sold us the package as the Palma Real resort, and when we got there they changed to this Garden Suites. If you have a chance, stay at the Falcon, even with the reviews being better for Garden Suites, trust me, it is not! Falcon is new, clean and waaaay better. We went to their property every day to eat, play, and we just came back to sleep. Food has no taste, make sure you take salt because it is not good.

This was such a beautiful property. The buildings, pools, and grounds were immaculate. The food was typical of the Caribbean and not as good as the northeast, but if you understand that is the usual for the islands.

We had the swim up room in the garden suites. It was so cozy & perfect for our honeymoon! We had drinks and food delivered right to the room and we felt so pampered! We loved the staff and the option to go to the other resorts and beach. Our resort was more intimate and the others we noticed were busier but it was nice to experience both. We noticed how family friendly it is for small children and will definitely be coming back with our son!
