We overall really enjoyed the Catalonia Yucatan/ Rivera Maya Resort. This was our (20s couple) 3rd time in Cancun, and this was by far our favorite resort yet. The food was satisfyingly good for most meals. Everything seemed freshly prepared and the ingredients were of high quality. Other reviews mentioned outdated amenities/ rooms, but that was never an opinion we shared. The activities were plentiful and fun. The shows seemed cheesy at previous resorts, but here it was obvious that effort was spent to make them enjoyable for both kids and adults. All staff were friendly, a little tipping went a long way but at no point did it feel necessary. Also, the ocean and beach felt so “alive”, and snorkling was available at no cost which was so fun to see corals, fish, and other creatures.
As for the parts we didnt love, the breakfast was lacking in options and was a bit disappointing, but the snack bar was open at 10:30 so we didnt have to go long hungry.
Overall, very nice resort. Would recommend
