"Hotel very run down, corridors and carpets worn. Room was clean enough in terms of bedding and bathroom, however there was an overwhelming malodour in the bedroom, like feet or drains, really bad. The outside sitting area there was green moss on the ground and heavy cobwebs so we did not use this. The remote control was encrusted with dirt around the buttons so we did not use this either. Hotel was full and we only spent one night there so another room wasn’t an option . I would seriously question the 4 star rating on this property, in good conscience I would not recommend the property, location very good and staff helpful but generally unpleasant stay due to the environment which desperately needs improvement."
"The bathroom had black mold in the shower and had a horrible odor. The restaurant was grossly understaffed. Customers were leaving for golf tee times without breakfast after waiting 45+ minutes. Had dinner at restaurant as well and it took 2.5 hours for an average 3 course dinner. Staff again was overwhelmed."
"We had a very relaxing break at the Salthouse. The scenery and hotel are absolutely beautiful! All of staff were very friendly and attentive. We ate in the Look Out on both evenings and my husband and myself agreed that it was the best meal we have eaten in along time! Can’t wait to return!"
"The staff were helpful however I didn't feel they were particularly friendly.
The location was lovely with wonderful views of the countryside and a short drive to giants Causeway.
The breakfast was plentiful with a good variety."
"If you want to visit the Giants Causeway & see it without the crowds… This is the place to stay! Once the other tourists have gone, you can walk out in the evening (after about 6.30pm) & early morning (before 8.45am) & be there all alone! Also, watching the sunset on your terrace is special. But, what makes this hotel, are the amazing staff who (despite being really busy) are just SO friendly & helpful :-)"
"If you like to stay in a property that has charm and history then this is for you.....wonderful views across Campbelltown harbour and countryside. Excellent service friendly staff. Delicious food and comfort. Highly recommend."
"Wonderful small authentic hotel, with a great view on the harbour. Full Scottish breakfast was excellent. Everything (read Springbank 😅) within walking distance."
"Although it said seaview room, this did not happen. Beds were clean and comfy. We were put in a disable room (that none of us needed) there was a trip hazard with carpet between bedroom & bathroom. The wet room which had poor drainage and after 3 people showered the water flooded the whole bathroom. Without us putting down towels water would have seeped into bedroom.
During our 3 night stay there was no change of towels or beds made although someone had been in the room to empty bins. For the price paid I would have expected a better standard of accommodation. Breakfast was fine, but only offered gluten free bread as an option."
