"The resort was over all nice only issue we had was the day we needed to leave to the airport to depart the transportation to bring us down took an hour to come get us and almost made us late for our flight. The resort is up a hill and no walking is permitted for safety. So you are forced to wait. We called the office several times to get picked up and the phone would just ring and then they would answer and tell us to wait outside so we waited outside of our room for one hour before being picked up. Also, the room stated with the stay you only get two complementary bottles of water and one coffee you have to pay for the rest but other than that, it was a pretty decent day and the resort itself was very nice and close to the beach just keep in mind that you have to wait to go around the resort."

"I honestly don’t understand how this resort is rated a 4-star property. This was the most disappointing travel experiences I’ve had. There is essentially no WiFi anywhere on the resort, which is unacceptable in this day and age. The rooms were extremely run down. The TV remotes didn’t work, we were constantly dealing with fire ants, and there were basically no standard amenities — no mini fridge, no iron, no coffee maker, nothing. It felt very bare and poorly maintained. The towels were disgusting. What were supposed to be white towels were gray, stained, old, and rough. Completely unacceptable from a cleanliness standpoint. The biggest issue was the food. The resort advertises multiple restaurants, a snack bar, but in reality, there was one buffet serving the same food every single day and it was terrible. My wife wouldn’t eat it, and even my 4 & 5 year-old kids refused the food. We basically survived on soggy French fries for an entire week. That alone should tell you everything. For comparison, I’ve stayed at all-inclusive resorts in Mexico, Jamaica, the Dominican Republic (multiple times), & Saint Martin every one of them was miles better than this place. This resort is run down and on the verge of going out of business. I genuinely cannot understand how it qualifies as a 4-star resort. Costa Rica itself is beautiful, the people are wonderful but I strongly recommend staying somewhere else To any Americans reading this: stay clear of Condovac La costa."

"From the start of our stay the staff was incredible, from offering up travel tips and explaining all that the hotel has to offer. Emmanuel at reception went the extra mile to make our stay unforgettable. The property is beautiful and the animals of Costa Rica are your neighbors. We saw spider monkeys among the mango trees on the property, and heard the howlers as well as the many bird species all across the resort. The views from our bay view room were incredible, offering beautiful sunsets and a snapshot of the whole bay. Occidental offered an amazing stay for our first trip to Costa Rica!"

"The property was gorgeous, staff excellent and very helpful, the room was very clean and the AC worked with out a problem. Walking distance to rhe beach and very good restaurant."

"Overall, I had a really good time. The food was actually very good compared to some of the reviews that I saw that mentioned it was mediocre. The transportation staff were top-tier and their driving abilities are unmatched. The only thing is that I did call and asked for the in room snacks to be stocked, but that was never done during my time."

"Best small pool ever met in motels. Kitchen is equipted not bad, but not enough plates and chef knifes, no bottles opener. Parking is convenient. Overall good place, grocery store is beside. "

"The property was very nice. Spa was great. Villa was amazing. Restaurants need help. Service is very slow and you have to get up from table to ask for things. Didn’t like that the pool Bar/Restaurant closed so early. Pools are also way too warm. "

"We stayed four days in April 2026. The property is wonderful, with an extensive beach, great pool and wonderful staff. The restaurant is very good, lots of variety and lots of food. Breakfast was wonderful with fresh fruit and a good menu. Our room was clean and the Air Conditioning was good. The hounds are extensive, trees, shrubs and Howler monkey in the trees. Would stay there again. "
