This was a family trip with my husband and our two teenage children. We chose Urubamba because the altitude was lower than Cusco and we wanted a quiet place to acclimate to minimise sickness. We were only in Peru for 10 days so we couldn't really risk 'sick days'. I'm so glad we made that decision because staying at Lizzy Wasi was a joy. The setting is stunning and so peaceful. Tents are comfortable and the shuttle service into town is a great addition. Food here was also great, special shout out to Miguel WiFi was the only let down.

What a lovely hotel in a great location. All the sights are within minutes to walk. Plenty of cafes, bars and restaurants around the hotel. Would definitely stay again. The only negative was being charged a destination fee on checking out. What is a destination fee and why?

Clean rooms, attentive and responsive staff members. Breakfast had a wide variety of selections. Bar experience was excellent. A personalized touch from the check in to check out. The hotel not only stores our luggage but also placed it back in our room on checking in again. Packed breakfast was given on the day of the hike. Our room was fabulous and spacious. We were greeted upon arrival every time we returned to the hotel. Breakfast was everything you could ask for and views that only added to the experience. We were able to walk everywhere although it was pretty hilly!!!

The customer service provided in this hotel was second to none. We were collected from the airport and returned to the bus depost free of charge. They also provided a taxi service to the town centre and back for just over £1.00 each way. Before we arrived they were extremely helpful and arranged trips and taxis for us at more competitive rates that we could attain ourselves. I stayed here on my way to Machu Picchu and again on my way back to Lima. The reception staff were pleasant, courteous and professional. The concierge helped me locate a shop, in Cusco, selling football (soccer) shirts. The luggage that I left for storage while I was at Machu Picchu was already waiting for me in my room when I returned.
