Nice, quaint place that was close to our destination: Ausable Chasm. Grounds were beautiful, rooms were cute and clean. The property is remote which was fine for us

Wow, what a great room! Massive, beautifully decorated, quiet, and a big balcony overlooking the lake. Cleanest hotel ever! Only downside is the boxed breakfast, mostly not good. But otherwise perfect,

The grounds are beautiful and the rooms are lovely and comfortable. The continental breakfast products were top quality and diligently replenished. Staff was very friendly.

Great location and view. Checked in...sheet left on table and never saw anyone from facility. Breakfast was stuff left in refrigerator or on counter.

Beautiful view from the balcony of our room (#3). Our room had a queen n double. The beds needed some updating, so I was glad I got 2 beds instead of just one. The room was spacey but the bathroom small. When I the bathroom there was a loud noise. They had a small refrigerator that had Almond Milk in it and no shelves. Then they had a large cooler that you could see inside it without opening the doors. They supplied juice and creamers, cream cheese and butter.We used one shelf for our dinner that we brought back to eat later. We had dinner on the lower balcony that had round table and chairs. It was fine until a mouse came around and under the table. I know it was outside but not something I wanted to see why eating. So when you check in there is a table by the door where you will find a sheet with your instructions and code. On the second floor in the hallway is a table that has dishes and coffee pot and tea pot. On the other side is bagels under a covered that everyone takes from plus another container of muffins (that were Hugh). The best part was the view. Down the street was a boating launch where we saw lighthouse across the water. That was what our trip was about lighthouses. The thing I didn’t care much about was customer service nobody was there but per the instruction was phone call away. No check in before 4pm.

I loved the setting and the history. The grounds were well kept and what a view. The outside of the building could use some work as paint was visibly peeling all over. However, our room was lovely and well decorated. I didn't see a staff member while we were there, but didn't need to seek anyone out so that was fine. All in all, a great stay. Couldn't believe when we first got there that we seemed to be the only ones (more came later)..

Bathrooms are separate from the bedroom. Have to go through a “common” hallway on the way to and from. This is extremely inconvenient. On the positive side: well-located and great view.

A rare find! The Inn is located on the lake with great views. Room was nice but wifi was limited (this was only a problem because cell phone coverage sparse). We caught a beautiful sunrise on our last day. Highly recommend!!

Beautiful - comfortable- clean - quiet. The rooms are fantastic with a view of Lake Champlain from your balcony, or you can walk the 20 ft to the shoreline. Super comfortable beds and so quiet. I wish to stay many more times!!!!

Valcour Inn is unique and special. Room and location was perfect and the view was wonderful. The manager was informative and helpful and a delight to chat with. Very much looking forward to returning to enjoy the comforts the Valcour has to offer.

Location was terrific. Place was nice. Unfortunately the manager/innkeeper was horrible. After I called from a 10 hour drive to ensure arriving at 10:30 pm was okay, she assured me it was no problem and that I would have a key and welcome letter waiting for me in the lobby. When I arrived, there were neither. Nor was there any way to reach her; she did not pick up the phone after I frantically called. My daughter and I finally guessed one of the building on site was her living quarters, so we went over (by now well after 10:30 at night). There was no doorbell but we banged on the door. About 10 minutes later after I phoned again, she picked up, saying she heard me bang on her door. She came over and gave us a room; apparently someone else had come and taken the key and taken our room; the good news was, we got a better room with a balcony overlooking the lake. I thought, okay, we'll move on but that morning at breakfast, she insulted me in front of other guests by (incredibly) claiming she wasn't expecting me because I had arrived on the wrong date, that my reservation was for the following day. I showed her my Expedia confirmation showing she was wrong. Then again embarrassing me in front of other guests, she had the gall to claim my credit card was denied. I pulled up my CC app & showed her that again, she was wrong, my payment had gone through the day I reserved the reservation. This would have been a lovely place to stay; regretfully her rudeness & incompetence ruined it.

We are a lovey 7 room Inn with several large Event venues. I have guest come and go daily and when they call asking about late check-in, I give them the protocol and respond that I will see them for breakfast. When I was woken, I retire early because my day begins very early, and a guest was irate and responding that her key was not available etc. I jumped up, dressed, went to the Inn and gave her a very expensive upgrade and apologized. I could not imagine why or who took her key. I went back to my home and went into my reservation system and found that another guest had taken her key because he had the room reserved and her reservations began the next day. I found this sort of comical and when the guest came for breakfast I had the print out of her reservation and when I laughed and told her that there had been a conflict of communication my guest was not willing to address the booking engines response. As for the Credit issue, the response of Credit Denied was because her reservation was for another date. I am so sorry that this happened, and I am so sorry that my guest was upset, but I take no responsibility for the situation. I did not charge my guests for the extra night or upgrade and hope that their visit to the area was lovely.

The Inn has a wonderful location as it is on Lake Champlain and, on a clear day, one can see the Green Mts. of Vermont across the lake. The Inn is a large, older building with a huge parking lot as it is also used as a conference center. Our room was upstairs with a lake view with a fireplace, beautiful hardwood floors, very nice bed, etc. There is a coffee station down the hall for use anytime, but coffee is part of what they call a continental breakfast, but it is actually more elaborate than that. They recommended Anthony's restaurant for dinner and we liked it so much we ate there both evenings of our stay.

Utterly charming property. The innkeeper was kind, breakfast was satisfying, and the view cannot be beat around Lake Champlain. Definitely not appropriate for business travel (I had to search for a place to charge my phone), but perfect for a romantic weekend getaway.

Overall the Valcour Inn is very good. It is an excellent value with spectacular views. The continental breakfast alone almost makes a stay worth it. The exterior of the building could use a power washing and the patio could stand a good sweep. The bedroom and bathroom were immaculate. The high tech television with three remotes was indecipherable. I just wanted to see some news and weather.

We would stay again.....
Our room in the Inn was very nice. The upstairs was warm and welcoming. The main floor was cold and sterile, bare. There was a coffee/ tea cabinet by the rooms which was nice, but nothing was ever restocked or cleaned. Even texted the InnKeeper about the dirty microwave (for days) but she said nothing nor cleaned anything. Small conveniences that were supposed to be there were not, and breakfast went from breakfast for 2 on the bill to "continental breakfast" on a sign by the house guests frig. We would go again. Management just seemed to be non-existent and penny pinching.

Great weekend getaway!!
A perfect place to stay with incredible views of Lake Champlain and Vermont. The master bath in the Valcour Suite is bright and spacious. The inn was clean and was a comfortable place to stay.
