The staff was great the owner is just a great guy, location is perfect, and on my last day I realized they rent motorbikes. That is a must do. Rooms are clean well kept and comfy. And food is good too. It’s off the noisy Bangla area but close enough to walk if you choose. Highly recommend

Good place
Nice and clean rooms. One minute walk to a beach. They also have a restaurant with great Italian food made the real Italian way.

At check in time, was told that reservation was cancelled by Expedia. After suggesting that we both call Expedia together, owner became cooperative, and "did me a favor". I got room 45. Balcony was 1 meter by 2 meters, faced wall of next building, that was 1 meter away. The room was noisy. Owner tried to blame next building, but inside wall was shaking. Some pump went off every 30-45 seconds with a thud. Slept 3 hours each night. Room looked modern. But owner is either playing games or just does not read his bookings too well.

Goodday Peter, Thanks for your review. At time of you checking in YOU admitted your previous cancellation might have caused confusion. I do not do favour, I simply hate leaving people alone and sleeping under the stars We managed to give you a de-luxe twin room (the one you booked and was available at time of you checking in) The noise was generated by the engine pumping water into the refrigeration system of Family Mart next door. This may have caused some problems the first two days, BUT, since we spoke and complained with Family Mart, on 30/12, problem was solved and not more noise. Same day, our House keeper confirmed to you problem solved. It means the last three or four nites you should not have had any problem at all and sleep well. Am not playing games, this is pure business, it is called hospitality business, show me the camel, pay for the camel.

Beautiful room with bath & terrasse, closed to the beach, seven eleven shop all night open, laundry... owners are lovely couple. Good restaurant at this hotel with amazing New Zealand steak. Price quality perfect !

Just one of the day. The day we check in the water supply having problem. What the use of logging place without good water to clean one self after a tire day. The stair at night also without night light. Not a late party goers place. Check out just one day.

Thank you for your comments As explained to you,our hotel had a problem because there were road works not far from us and they cut the water supply off several times that week. With no water supply in our cistern, the pump did not work properly and no enough power to push water up to second and third floor. We are sorry for any inconvenience you had but, please understand, it was a problem behind our control. Best Regards

Stayed here for 8 days. Quiet location close to the beach at a reasonable price. Staff were accomodating ( even those with limited English). Negative points: air condition was noisy/ occasionally dripping with water. Daily towel change however poor deep cleaning/mopping of floor. Do not leave loose change on the table as this will be gone when you get back to your room. Started tipping cleaner to prevent any awkward situation.

This hotel was really inexpensive by American standards. The room was reasonably clean but the A/C and wifi did not work. It is very close to the beach, restaurants, and shopping. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Great Hotel
-Little far from busy street -Just rent a motor nearby for a very convenience trip to go around -Very friendly staffs -Just ride along and enjoy the breeze -The best part is every morning got great local foods in the morning!! I miss that very much! -just the floor was oily, I guess they didn't mop it but it's very comfort room! Highly recommended!

Great room for a great place. The room had a few ants and the blinds in the shower haven't been cleaned for a long time. Staff was friendly. Beach is a five minute walk. Quiet area to stay in, with all of the bars being a 20 minute walk away.

Would recommend but read this review!!!
The hotel is nice and by UK standards quite cheap. The pictures are better than the reality, they have probably been taken when the hotel was just refurbished (looks like 10 years ago). It doesn't look like the management have invested in proper maintenance as it's quite run down which is a shame as it would have been a good place to stay if you're not a snob. Can't complain about cleanliness and service but the overall condition let's it down. We stayed in three different rooms (because we were travelling in between): one had ants in the bathroom, one had low water pressure the third didn't have proper water temperature control. On the plus side the staff were great, breakfast was nice, great location (beach minutes away), shop next door, lively street to feel safe. If you're on a budget and are there to explore then it's a good place to stay.

Good location good price good service
we went there with 4 friends and they gave us two master connected rooms, it was great to have both rooms connected with a door. Price is good, staff very helpful and friendly, the hotel is just 1 minute walk from the beach.

Good stay!
Very nice small hotel. Located in the north part of Patong beach (quite at night, not so many nightclubs and cafes around). The beach is 5 minute walk, and Jungceylon Mall/Bangla Road is about 15-20 minute walk from the hotel. The staff was very helpful and nice.

I was staying in a Deluxe room on the 4th floor (the hotel has no elevator)which was very clean and spacy enough for two. This room has no view to please your eyes but it does have one serious drawback: the inside door to the adjacent room; this means that if you have hotel guests next door from you, you will hear every word they say and every noise they produce. I was lucky, I had no next door neighbors. The hotel is located 150 meters from the beach in a quiet northern part of Patong and only 15 min stroll to Patong center. The hotel staff was super friendly, especially receptionist Jenni and her father, and I felt like home. All said, Amber Residence is a nice place for a short stay in Patong Beach and definitely a good value for the money.

Best value for money.
This hotel was the best value for money hotel we have stayed in, for the last 8 weeks. (We are a couple with a child two years old.). It was clean and tidy. Hotel staff where great. Breakfest was fantastic. If you want a five star hotel go some where else. I would rate this myself as five star hotel myself for the price. Phuket it's self is over price for thailand. But I would gladly come back to this hotel for a week or two. Quite as well. Big barthroom. Well set out rooms. Fridge and pay TV are great for the money. Loved it.

Номера очень чистые, уборка в номере каждый день, местоположение-отличное, пляж в 3 минутах, рядом много кафе, супермаркетов, хозяин отеля всегда готов помочь и доброжелателен. Номера не большие, лифта нет, но это полезно подниматься пешком.

Great choice!!!
We had a really pleasant stay at Amber residence! The owner named Oscar was an excellent Profesional and he did for us everything that was possible to make our vacations perfect! He helped us with everything even book taxis and island tours in really good prices! The breakfast wasn't fancy but it was really good. Also the Italian foods that they make to their restaurant is brilliant, we had lazagnia and I totally recommend if you stay there to taste it. Only two negatives : there was traffic noise in the night and they need to renew their towels. But these 2 things must not keep you away from booking there. It was totally worth it! Thank you Oscar for everything and hope to see you again!!!!

Das Hotel war super schön vor allem für diesen Preis war es mehr als gut.An der Sauberkeit im WC müsste man noch etwas arbeiten aber im gross und ganzen super.

Seems...room 205 (the 2th floor the last room on the right hand side) Bad: 1. The door of terrace can't close completely. 2. Many many ants (above 100s) come in from the this gap! Gap > refrigerator > sofa > bed! Actually, they pass through the bed to other place, so just a few ants on the bed. 3. The door between two room didn't lock. I open the door saw someone sleeping in the next room ~_~""" I close and lock the door immediately. 4. The light in the room a bit dim Good: 1. Nice staff 2. Clean room 3. Cheap, really cheap 4. Near patong beach, walk 3-4mins *to staff, pls fix the terrace's door. it is a nice hotel :)

katastrophale Organisation!!
4 Wochen im Voraus gebucht. Nach einer langen Anreise bin ich dort angekommen und es hat mich ein Italiener an der Rezeption empfangen. (sehr nett aber nur wenig englisch Kenntnisse) DAS HOTEL WAR AUSGEBUCHT KEINE ZIMMER VORHANDEN!!!??? Das Hotel hat mich dann nach langem diskutieren 10m weiter in ein anderes gesteckt (weis den Namen nicht mehr) - Zimmer sehr klein (abgestuft) - Sehr lautes Umfeld - Insekten im Zimmer - klapperndes Fenster die ganze Nacht - Morgens um 6 wurde auf dem Dach gehämmert. Ich habe mich trotzem entschieden dort eine Nacht zu übernachten, weil es schon Abends um 11war. Fazit: einfach nur schreklich!

Ganska mycket trassel
Jag och min sambo bodde pa hotellet under tva veckor. Det var ganska mycket trassel. Vi fick forst ett rum dar safetyboxen inte satt fast och inte fungerade. Vi saknade aven fjarrkontrollen till tv:n sa den inte gick att anvanda. Vi sa till om dessa saker och fick byta rum till ett mindre rum. Dar fungerade det mesta forutom nagra av lamporna. Vi sa till om det men det fixades aldrig. Trist att inte kunna lasa pa kvallen. I var bokning ingick aven frukost som vi hade betalat och papper pa. Hotellet nekade detta. En dag hade vi inget vatten pa rummet sa det gick inte att ga pa toaletten eller duscha. Balkongen pa rummet var sa liten sa dar gick det bara att sitta en person. Trots alla problem sa var hotellrummet ganska mysigt och det var nara till stranden. Lag dock pa en valdigt trafikerad gata.
