COVID-19 may have changed the way we travel, but it hasn't done away with our enthusiasm for exploring. Here are some tips on how to deal with the new challenges of travelling:

• Find out the restrictions and rules in both your origin and destination. You may not be able to travel depending on local circumstances, so don't forget to check in advance.
• When you go through airport checkpoints, keep your face mask on. You will be asked to briefly lower it for identification purposes. Travellers who refuse to wear a face mask may face civil penalties and may also be escorted from the building.
• Rather than handing a TSA officer your boarding pass, position it directly on the reader yourself. When that's done, hold it up for inspection.
• TSA now allows passengers to take one container of hand sanitizer, up to 12 oz (350 ml) in size, in carry-on bags. This will have to be removed from your bag and submitted for screening.
• To reduce handling during the screening process, place items such as your loose change and phone into your carry-on instead of the bins.
• If you want to take food on board, put it in a clear plastic bag and then into a screening bin. This lessens the likelihood that a TSA officer will need to handle your carry-on bag or food container for closer inspection.
