"The location is very beautiful. The property sits on the water and has great views. The rooms are good size. The food was just ok, the location of the restaurant and bar are again very pretty . We waited 40 minutes one night to get some bread and a salad. We kept getting other people’s orders that we had to redirect . Overall a nice place but we didn’t get housekeeping one day for no reason . The hotel is disorganized and under staffed . The servers were all very friendly but frazzled as well ."

"This hotel is central to everywhere we want to go in SF! Plus, we feel safe in this neighbourhood. We love the atmosphere at Union Square, and BART is close by for our trips out to the suburbs. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Our room was nice and clean, and our room requests were met 100%. We have stayed at the Handlery many times over the years, and will stay here again! Thank you!"

"Front desk staff was friendly and helpful both check in and check out, Room was large and clean, the free ride to/back to the airport came very convenient. It was a great to choice at this hotel. "

"Room too warm. The room was 81° when we got in at 11:30pm and only made it down to 77° by 8am. "

"The hotel was mostly fine. It provided us with basic amenities that we needed for a two-night stay. However, one morning I folded some CLEAN clothes and put them in one of the drawers along with a backpack with my laptop in it. When we got back to the hotel that night, the backpack with my laptop was fine, thankfully, but the clothes were damp and had a foul smell, similar to cat urine. I'm not sure what happened, but this upset me since the clothes were clean and dry when we left. Another thing, most of the lights/lamps were no longer working when we got back that same night."
