The room i had was awful. The tv didn't work like it was using old rabbit ears from the 80's. The shower didn't work. It took everything I had to get the water to turn on and when i finally did the shower head didn't work. Also the shower curtain was all torn up at the bottom. Just made me wonder if the room was as clean as it looked.

Property was right by the water. Enjoyed the morning walks, cool breeze to my room, room was clean. Parking was free, even has a charger for EV. Only problem was the TV didn’t have a clear picture, to snowy. I didn’t contact desk about it because I didn’t plan on watching TV anyway.

Do not ever stay here! Our stay has been disappointing and not to expectation since we arrived. The room is tiny, the bed is within 5 feet from the front door. The pictures of the room on Expedia is not at all as actual fact. The spa tub does not exist. The space is much smaller and the view is of the parking lot and back of another motel, not the ocean as pictured. The television has very few channels, and every one is full of static!! The vending machine on site is empty so you can’t even access water or snacks. The walls are so light you can hear everything outside. I’m pregnant and it’s my husbands birthday and we’re here with our children and this has all been very disappointing. We went to communicate our feedback to the front desk manager and they stated we know, we hear it everyday. Not willing to do anything to help, I asked for a refund so we could go elsewhere and they said it’s no longer possible to cancel within 72 hours with Expedia. We feel stuck in a bad decision. Please don’t make our same choice. Go somewhere else to stay!

It’s located in an excellent area ~ Lover Point, but the property itself is kind of too old. The bathroom smells not good and the shower water is too tight to be turned on.

The main point of getting this hotel was location location location. That’s what I paid the price for. I thought it would have been a much nicer room, since I’ve paid less for more. The room was very compact. Double Queen room supposedly best for families but still very small with 2 chairs at a small table inside. Tv was no good. I know the point of Monterey is to be out and to enjoy what the rest of the city has to offer, not to enjoy your hotel room. But still, it’s nice to enjoy the night when you come in off the town and again in the morning when you’re getting ready. Staff was notably nice at check in and again at checkout. The room was quiet, on the third floor and away from the elevator, just got lucky on that. Or maybe it’s included in the higher price we paid. Hot water had good pressure. Towels and linens were clean. We had no trouble with a parking space somewhere on the property even with coming and going a couple times. But the room was terribly hot and stuffy. It did have a ceiling fan and a floor tower fan, still, terribly hot all night. That was an unpleasant surprise. I will not choose to stay at Lovers Point again. I was disappointed coming here with my family for mother’s day weekend. It was a selfish spur of the moment, something I thought would have just been so nice. I was totally disappointed.

Good location. Rooms are clean. Could use some updates. We did not have a microwave, and the cable tv was snowy. It does have an elevator which is very convenient if have mobility issues.

Great location, across the street from Lover's Point Beach. Very walkable to local attractions and restaurant options. Our family is from here so various members have stayed at this motel throughout the years. It says "Under new management" so hopefully my following comments will be taken to heart & they will send their staff to management courses focused on professionalism, problem solving, & how to speak to customers. When we arrived at 3pm for check-in, we saw a sign that said "Check-in is 4pm early check-in is at earliest 3pm". Nobody was in the office. We waited, called out & called on the phone...nothing, nobody. We walked around the block, came back, finally a yound disheveled man came in and said "A maid called out, we are behind, I don't know when your room will be ready!" Okay...no time estimate, nothing helpful or apologetic...so we walked some more! Luckily Pacific Grove is beautiful. We return after 4pm and this guy is driving away. A new young tattooed kid is at the front desk. We inquire about our room. The response was so rude and snarky, we were literally taken a back! Straight quotes "I already told you I don't know when your room will be ready & you keep asking me the same questions!" And "Look Buddy why don't you just give me your number and I'll call you when it's ready" We walked to go get dinner & returned with friends. They were shocked at the rudeness when we walked back into the office. Will never return here! There are other options!

Despite great effort to modernize property, electronics do not work well here. Bathroom too small. Lots of noise from adjoining rooms. Desk check -in was very fast , incomplete. Underground parking is really bad. Rooms need microwave ovens. Not sure front desk knew or cared about customers. Seemed like no interest or appreciation of customer. Check out was drop key in basket, no receipt or even offer of receipt. Monterey seems a huge fail in customer service, not returning soon, if at all. Expedia interaction was really poor abd i will AVOID, using Expedia and their associates as much as possible. This not just a series of point and click transactions...really atrocious for people with disabilities.

I kept asking God, "Could this get any better?!" and then it would! Beautiful location that feels safe, lovely views (I had the 3rd floor balcony room)...I enjoyed the cucumber-melon hand soap and the complementary make-up wipes. My room had a table & chairs in the bedroom and another set on the balcony. It's a 1-minute walk from one of the most beautiful sunset views in the country (watch for the sea otters!). Several restaurants and bakeries are within a 10-minute walk from the Inn. The bed was comfortable. Only complaint was that the heater woke me up every time it cut on/off...and the trash truck came about 5 different times in the morning (beep! beep! beep!).

The area is beautiful. I have a lovely view of the ocean and the entire beachfront and paths are a block away. There's a beautiful park across the street and the ocean on the other side of it. An amazing grocery store 1 mile away with a beautiful walk. Lovely neighborhood. Nothing fake or fancy here just very sweet. We were so impressed we decided to stay another night. Also double queen bedroom was spacious with a lot of good places to put things away and very clean.

We liked the location and the view from our window! Property was quiet. The bed was very, very comfortable. The stale smell of the room was unpleasant and the bathroom was very, very small.

We stayed on ground/1st floor level in room with queen bed. Pros: Front desk service was amazingly fast and friendly. Parking was ok. Heater was working and kept the room warm. Cons: Room - not renovated, old and felt as quickly patch up job. No room service is provided unless you specifically request it or full maid service only staying 3 days. Shower head was old and bathtub drain black/moldy. The room was right next to the housekeeping service room and front desk, so we could hear a lot of service noise. During the day, we were not really there but in the night, loud tv and ringing from front desk is heard when guest comes in. Registration parking points all the headlights to that room. The room had curtains but easy to see through/ no black-out curtains, no privacy. Tv was anthena grainy and no working remote. Ants and ant traps were under the sink. Not kid friendly and definitely not worth the price.
