If you are attracted to sports, beautiful scenery and indoor and outdoor cultural experiences, Oslo will be the perfect destination for you!

Oslo, the capital of Norway, is a metropolis in close proximity to nature. Here you will be able to enjoy an active holiday while also having a chance to recharge your batteries. Head to Oslomarka with its 618 square miles of delightful nature, or the green areas through the largest park in the city, Frognerparken, where you can take in some cultural history en route.

If you opt for the green alternative when travelling to Oslo, you can start off at Oslo Central Station and walk up along the main street, Karl Johan. There are excellent shopping opportunities and pubs along the way. On the way to The Royal Palace you will pass the Parliament building which dates from 1866, and a quick detour will also take you to the baroque Oslo Cathedral which is used for royal weddings and ceremonies.

If you visit the palace during the summer, you may be able to go on a tour before carrying on to Vigelandsparken. Here you will find beautiful fountains and Gustav Vigeland's unique sculptures of human bodies. A trip up to Holmenkollen should be part of any visit to Oslo. The popular landmark has a ski museum where you can delight in 4000 years of history, outstanding views and a ski simulator!

Hotels and other accommodation options are easy to find when you are in the centre of Oslo and the transport options will be excellent, whether you choose to fly to Oslo airport or take the train or bus. The tram, underground and bus make it easy to experience the capital.

There are plenty of restaurants and other eateries in Oslo – head to Aker Brygge when on a holiday in Oslo. Here you can enjoy a lovely atmosphere and stunning views across Oslofjorden.

Oslo has plenty of experiences to offer. Whether you want to enjoy the parks in the summer sun or the shimmering snow at Holmenkollen during winter, Oslo is a city worth visiting all year round.

Room had everything we needed. There were some strange sounds coming from the air vents in the middle of the night that briefly kept us up. Otherwise a good stay.
