We booked a double room with City View and had a rom on the 13th floor which provided good views across central Oslo while minimising late-night noise from outside. Good location close to Central Station, with excellent staff and facilities, including a small swimming pool. Great breakfast buffet with plenty of seating and tables. Our only dislike was that floor space in the room was very limited, partly due to multiple low cupboard units which served no useful purpose. We would have liked more vertical hanging space for storing clothes and drying towels, which should have been possible while making the room more practical for two people to occupy.

Waited 30 minutes to check in. Was in a long line with other guests all waiting to check in and the front desk guy just leaves. Doesn’t come back. We catch him leaving out a back office and we ask if he’s coming back and he says “that’s night shift’s problem” and walks away. He knew he had a long line of guests waiting and acknowledged us but instead of letting us know we will have to wait for someone else, he just leaves. He also let multiple people cut the line who had complaints or issues with their cards infront of everyone waiting. Then finally someone who looked to be the manager checked us in and didnt say a word to us. Then she leaves after only checking us in even though there was a huge line still behind us waiting to check in. Horrible experience. To top it all off we were woken in a panic by the fire alarm at 2am. There was no communication from the hotel the entire evacuation. Didn’t even see anyone that worked at the hotel. No one had any idea what was going on and was standing out in the cold.

Included breakfast was very tasty. Unfortunately, the room itself was incredibly small and cramped. It was very uncomfortable for 2 adult males who had no interest virtually sleeping together. Beds pull apart about 3 inches, so it felt like we were sleeping together. Mattresses are also very uncomfortable and the room lacked any sort of climate control making it excessively hot in the room.
