"Booked a double queen room, got a king with pull out couch. Asked front desk to be corrected they said they would refund me and I could go else where which is not helpful since I booked this months in advance.
Health unit shut down the hot tub after we arrived and saw other guests in the hot tub. Maintenance employee seemed unbothered by the situation.
Rooms were held together with painters tape.
Don’t waste your money - stay else where."
"The bed was comfortable and it was quiet for sleeping. Staff were friendly. The hotel itself is aging so everything looks a little worn. The price was good however.
I did have an issue with the toilet as it didn’t flush properly or consistently. Apparently it has been reported to maintenance."
"Great location for restaurants and coffee shops, the morning breakfast was more than enough. Close access to the 400 which makes it easier for an out of towner not used to Barrie.
I would stay again but ask for a room away from the parking lot."
"The Stay at Econo Lodge has been more than satisfactory, the room allocated was clean and tidy on arrival and matches descriptions.
The building itself does need some love here and there no doubt but nothing concerning.
Staff from front desk to housekeeping throughout were polite and informative and ready to assist and any issues or request I had was met with polite enthusiasm to help.
There are typical amenities available at this budget friendly location and the breakfast available is basic food and such to help yourself to make if you need it.
Econo Lodge u
is surrounded by food restaurants and a dollarama(always useful) literal minute walks away and it's in just the right spot to head out and explore the city with a bus stop nearby and local taxi's and "app services" to get you around if you don't have a vehicle.
There's generally ample parking space on site and nearby. It's not going to be an issue unless it's a busy period than be prepared.
Although you can never know who your fellow guests may be during my stay the atmosphere was calm enough throughout to me.
I'd have no issues booking here again when needed."
"Honestly a perfect spot for the night and in the middle of our travels. Room was clean, beds were comfortable, and the free breakfast was actually good with many options. Shout out to Summer who greeted us. She was very kind and insightful on where to go in Barrie in terms of shopping. Only note (which wasn’t a problem for us, I just forgot to mention it as we were leaving) was our bathroom at times smelled like cigarettes. It didn’t affect the whole room but was something we noticed, and was probably someone sneaking a smoke in the building unfortunately. Like I said it wasn’t a problem for my family and I, we genuinely enjoyed our stay and will rebook in the future when we’re in the area."
"I was only in for a quick stay, and it was great. I found the accommodations comfortable and clean. It's not as modern as other hotels, but that's completely fine. The staff was really friendly and kind. I needed something printed last minute and they were able to help me out with that for a small cost which was much appreciated.
I did find the parking at the front quite tight. I would have used the parking lot at the back, but I had something in the back of my vehicle and found the front be be a better space because of that. I did find my room quite dark even with all the lamps on. I had some work to complete and could have used some more light in the room, but it was only one day so not a big deal for the short stay. All in all a great stay and a good price. "
"Staff were great. Lots of room issues but all sorted with friendly staff. Overall good stay. Wish the hotel offered a hot tub or pool like all other big brand hotels "
