Glide silently above the dramatic Mackenzie Basin in a glider flight, where thermal currents create perfect soaring conditions. Clay cliffs near town offer otherworldly hiking trails, while Lake Benmore beckons with salmon fishing and kayaking adventures.
"Don't let the exterior fool you, this motel has very modern renovated units with very comfortable beds, large bathroom and well equipped rooms.
Owners were very helpful with late check in and we really rated our stay. "
"It seemed strange not having sky and the sliding door on the room would not lock, but being upstairs it didn't really matter. The staff were brilliant and helpfull"
"This was our favorite stay in New Zealand. Comfortable house in the cute town of Twizel with lots of dining options, two grocery stores, amazing stars, and convenient to Mt Cook. The house is in a neighborhood so a bit tricky to find at night, but very comfortable with a well-equipped kitchen and a good set up for a family. My only suggestions would be to add lamps (why do New Zealanders hate bedside lamps??) and maybe a few DVDs (after a long day of hiking, would have been nice to watch a family movie!). Overall we loved it - and eat at Mint Folk & Co in town if you can! "
