Old Town Triangle Trip

I chose this hotel because I was traveling with my baby and specifically needed a refrigerator and microwave to prepare her food. The hotel advertised both, but upon check-in I was told microwaves were only available by request. I requested one immediately and was told none were available. I followed up several times the next morning. Brisa said she’d look into it but never got back to me and came across as short and dismissive. I was told there was a microwave at the front desk, about a 10-minute walk from our room—not practical with a hungry, screaming baby. I also notified Brisa that the ice machine on our floor was out of service, but it remained broken for the duration of our stay. There wasn’t even a sign indicating it was out of order. The rest of the staff I encountered were friendly and courteous. Although the room had a beautiful view, it did not appear to be cleaned well. My crawling baby found debris on the floor, there was hair in the bathroom, the toilet tank was shifted and exposed, and the towel/hair dryer rack was broken. The pool was nice, but the adjacent locker room had what appeared to be extensive mold and mildew buildup, water damage, and poor maintenance. I spent nearly $1,000 for two nights. A hotel marketed as a 4-star resort and spa comes with certain expectations for cleanliness, maintenance, and service, and this experience fell far short. I honestly would have been better off staying home or choosing another hotel. I won’t be staying here again.

We booked a two bedroom unit, but the unit clearly wasn't intended for a 2 bedroom. It was obviously a sitting area or something with a bed squeezed in. There was no vent so it made it impossible to shut the door, but then it was open to the living space and a full wall of windows. In addition, they list housekeeping as an amenity, and advertise one day or long term stays, however, for our 4 night stay, this didn't get housekeeping services. Meaning we had to get towels and coffee each day from the front desk, had piles of trash from cooking and such, and a heap of dirty towels from the week. Staff was friendly, but not really provided agency or capacity to do anything to fix the experience. Even a request for a fan to try to cool the space was impossible for them to solve (although they certainly had one for the front desk to keep staff comfortable).

The bar is fabulous!
