"We arrived at 6:45 pm and they said there was no room available as they were still cleaning. My wife has health issues and I said I need a room. I said I would take a lesser room just to have one. When we got to the room it hadn’t been cleaned yet and smelled of weed. They gave us another room and it was 75 degrees in there and the A/C didn’t work. We had to wait in our vehicle for almost an hour until there was a room clean and suitable. Staff apologized and said they only had 1 person there to clean for the day and they were behind. Others were still waiting after us. It was 2 hrs after arrival before we could settle in. There was no complementary breakfast and only coffee available was what you could make in your room in the mini coffee maker. "

"Property was very clean but different than what we are used to when traveling. No complimentary breakfast and a fee for parking which will result in a decision not to stay at this property next time in the area. We have experienced a parking fee elsewhere but only in city areas where parking was a premium. Understandable. This property had very ample parking for plenty of cars. We just thought it was a sort of money grab for travelers. There was breakfast food available but for $19 a person. My wife and I would never come close to eating $38 worth of food in the morning."

"Terrible service! We chose this hotel bc it was conveniently located across the street from the hospital. The reason we needed to stay was because our father was called in for transplant. My sister and I spent the night at the hospital with our dad bc it was required for us to be there. Our mother and my nephews stayed at said hotel. Giving that we booked online we were charged for parking that was not listed at time of booking. Fortunately the day time receptionist did credit that back. Upon check out we were charged for 6 people all charged as adults, which there was only 4 (1 adult and 3 children) who stayed at the hotel (room with 2 double beds) but the night receptionist said she saw 6 adults. To access the room you have to walk in to the lobby and the receptionist obviously can’t count. We were charged extra bc a room with 2 double beds can only accommodate 2 people? Which also was not listed at time of booking. This appears to be a very old hotel but has been updated inside but if they want to keep business they should act accordingly bc we could have very well got better treatment next door to them! The staff need to be evaluated for finger counting. Apparently that skill isn’t required for the job. It’s apparent that they like to take advantage of people that are obviously staying there to be across from the hospital. Parking is $20!!! It is less than that for valet @ the hospital. Do better!"

"Our oldest daughter is a student at North Carolina Central University, so we stay here anytime we are visiting Durham from NY. The hotel is in a great location and very safe area. Close to the highway but very quiet. There is a gas station across the street which is convenient. The hotel is very quiet but also family friendly. There is also free parking available The rooms are always very clean and the beds are so comfortable. The staff are wonderful and the breakfast offered is very good. The pool is great for a quick swim in the summer. "
