We had a lovely stay here, the room and bathroom were very nice and a good size and had everything you needed. Julie was so helpful and made us an amazing breakfast every morning. The house is in a quiet area but easy to reach shops and restaurants, as well as the main bus station.
This was my first stay in a B&B as I usually stay in a hotel. It has a very welcoming atmosphere, with a wonderful homely feel. Breakfast had a choice of toast, jams, cereal and the cooked breakfast was cooked to order. This stay has left me wanting to stay in more B&B's.
Lovely place! Host was really friendly. Would definitely stay here again. Perfect if you're looking for a place near town centre but still in a quiet and safe area.
Nice Location close to the town but after reading the "fabulous" reviews we were expecting it to be better than it really was.
There were Cobwebs in the room, the breakfast cereal was a month out of date. There were leaves behind the bedside cabinet and Ants crawling along the skirting board, there had been water left in the kettle when we arrived. The room was not serviced till the Saturday evening. The landlady was in the kitchen at breakfast time in her dressing gown. Definitely not worth the £84 a night charged.
We had a really lovely stay. Rooms are spacious and very clean. Staff are really friendly. Would defiantly stay here again x

Lovely old house - but neglected
We booked to stay as it was close to St Mary's Hospital where our son was being treated for cancer (he has since passed away) On arrival we were shown to our room which although lovely, spacious & full of character, needed a good clean as there were even cobwebs hanging from the ceiling. However, the bedding was spotless & the bed very comfortable.
We told the owner, Julie, why we were there & told her, when she asked, that we would need our breakfast at about 8.00 am but would inform her when we returned that evening if there were any changes. However, when we returned at approximatelt 7.00 pm we looked around, rang bells, etc. etc. but could not summon anyone to tell so we took ourselves off to bed as it had been a long & tiring day.
The following morning we went down to breakfast at 07.55 am. There was one other guest in the dining room eating his breakfast but no staff appeared. The other guest left but still no staff member appeared & after waiting half an hour, during which time we were shouting out throughout the house, & ringing the doorbell continually, we just had to grab a couple of bananas which were laid on the sideboard so that we could quickly return to the hospital.
Julie did, at that stage appear & apologised, saying she was in "the extension" & had not heard us, & as she felt it was her husband's turn to cook our breakfast she had not bothered to go to the dining room.
It was not cheap to stay there either with such bad service
Hosts were friendly, open and generous. Very welcoming people. This was somewhat let down by the condition of the property itself. Bathroom walls and ceiling in need of repair, tiles needed cleaning, skirting boards around room (family room) were covered in dust and stuff, radiators were dirty inside, and like the edges of the carpet, covered in paint flakes from old paint. Single bed in room was quite uncomfortable, with springs that jabbed into you every time you moved, thus waking one up.We had booked the twin room, but this was not available due to water damage. Such a pity, as previously mentioned, the hosts are charming people, and the location is excellent
