The old railway tunnel on the glow worm tunnel road near Newnes NSW a couple of weeks back. Newnes was a shale oil mining town located deep within the Wolgan River Valley. During its heyday the mines were linked to the nearby city of Lithgow by a railway tunnel through the Newnes Plateau. This single lane road tunnel is a relic of that railway.
