Beacon beach resort is very clean, rooms cleaned everyday, restaurant spotless and good food . The staff was so helpful .Its on the beach, town is about five mins in tuk tuk cheap . would book to stay their again

Value for money hotel
The beacon beach hotel is on the beach so you walk pass the pool and your on the beach. The room was clean every day . Staff always on hand to help . The breakfast was value for money . You can get a tuk tuk into negombo town centre for about two pounds its cheap to eat out and very good.i would go back again

This a great property right on the beach & not far from the airport so perfect for us after our delayed flight arrival at 1am. The beach is quite strewn with rubbish so probably not a great spot for a long stay but the hotel pool & surrounds are very pleasant and the breakfast area on the top floor has magnificent views. The sheets & towels are a bit old & rooms probably need a bit of refreshing but this is by no means a 5 star hotel, So overall very good value for money.

We arrived straight from the airport at around 3.30am the hotel was in darkness and completely closed. The street also in complete darkness, no cars, people but lots of dogs everywhere, we love dogs but felt very uncomfortable and not safe. We shouted hello numerous times to see if security or someone was around. We also tried to call but call wasn’t going through. We actually thought we’d been scammed! We waited around for over an hour looking for transport and alternative accommodation. We made one final attempt to get a response by shouting very loudly through a gap in the doorway and finally lights went on and a porter opened the doors, a member of staff eventually came down from bed to check us in, this took around 30 mins and we finally made it to our rooms. The following morning the key snapped in the lock and we left it with reception on return to the hotel no one knew anything about our key and there didn’t appear to be any comms between staff and we spent a further 30 mins waiting to get in our room! You can walk into the beach from the rear of the hotel, we liked listening to the waves but the beach is very dirty full of plastic that has been swept into little pile but then left there! We wouldn’t stay here again.

Well run and very welcoming hotel. Staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. On quieter end of beach and close to lots of very good restaurants. Would certain!y return and have no problem recommending. Rooms are perfectly nice with AC, tv and tea/coffee facilities and wifi. Bathrooms are modern and toiletries are provided. Request seaview room and if a priority, rooms above 3rd floor will give best views as palm trees restrict the view a little bit.

Xmas relaxation
Reception, room and breakfast service excellent. Poolside service good. Breakfast food good and plenty of choice. Location so convenient for beach and local restaurants and bars. Sea view room superb. Room size, comfort and room facilitiez excellent. Maintenance service for a couple of minor issues on arrival superb. All round I would stay again and recommend without hesitation.

Okay stay for discounted price
Very nice and clean rooms but we booked sea view and on the second floor only saw palm trees. The deck chairs at the beach are old and some are rusty and falling apart. Pillows are too thin to be comfortable. Breakfast was really good and served fast. When we were there the owner of the hotel celebrated her birthday with 100 people at the beach, so the beach area was pretty much closed during the afternoon of preparations and it was difficult to sleep because of the music until 2am. As such this would not have been a problem but there was no proper information for the hotel guests and no compensation for the lack of comfort and sleep before and during the party.

Great small hotel in Negombo
This is an unpretentious but well-kept small hotel right on the beach in Negombo. There is a small pool, for when the sea is a bit rough (as when I stayed) and lots of loungers and chairs on the beach. There is a small bar, on the ground floor so drinks and snacks cabbn be served to your seat on the beach. Occupying all of the top (7th) floor is a large restaurant and bar open in the evening with great views along the coast. For the price this is gredat value and I will rebook, next time I'm in Negombo

Stayed for one night on our way from airport. Easy to reach from airport. Room looked exactly as it was advertised. Views from the sea view room was amazing! Staff excellent very helpful. Building looks like it need bit more updating. Room was OK but considering this is a 4* hotel should have been bit more cleaner. This hotel is good for a short stay. Overall pleasant experience.

Budget hotel with great location
The hotel is right off the beach, the tallest structure at the northern end of Negambo. Very decent budget option. The rooms are reasonably clean, the toilets are great and if you get a sea facing room, pay the extra. It's worth it. Lots of privacy and great views of the sea.

Beautifully located hotel but badly trained staff
The hotel is beautifully located but we were disappointed as our first impression was the hotel is a little tatty. Within minutes of entering the lobby I realised there was a problem with the staff. Check in did not go smoothly and we ended up waiting unnecessarily as our room was ready. The main problem we had with this hotel is the service you receive from the staff. Particularly in the restaurant for breakfast when one morning everything was very cold so we made a formal complaint to the restaurant manager. Most of the staff are obviously are not trained properly. For example we placed an order for drinks various times on the beach which failed to come even though there were plenty of staff standing around. When I went up to chase the drink up I was laughed at by a member of staff. There are so many staff in the hotel but most of them don't really know what they are doing which I put down to bad management.

The inconvenience that happened when you are ordering a drink at the pool restaurant, will do an investigate about that incident, the staff who were there at that time & who were the related staff to this incident. We thoroughly give priority to guest ideas & comments. Therefore your comment would be going to a major investigate among our staff & the management team. The special thing that want to mention,we also wanted to make you happy. That is why as a apologize we did offer you a lunch as a complimentary to say sorry. I think you enjoyed it well. . Having stayed at 10 standard hotels during a two week trip, the Beacon Beach stood out as my favourite. Small but clean and every comfort provided, the staff were charming. Situated on the beach, there's a good pool, bar and restaurant. Service a little slow so make sure you order your drinks straightaway Breakfast is served on top floor with panoramic views.

Nice hotel on the beach
My sea view room located on the second floor did not have the best view because of the palm tress but still much better than rooms facing the road. Lovely rooms however could be cleaner ad there seems to be a lot of rust on metal pieces like shower and bins etc that takes away from the room that otherwise is lovely with a fantastic balcony. Breakfast ok with lovely restaurant staff but reception could be more efficient. Hotel located at the end of the road where all the hotels are giving it a bit quieter ad relaxed vibe.

OK place, close to airport and on the beach
An OK place to stay if you are transiting to/from the airport but the overall hotel is a bit worn/tired. We got in late and checked out that morning. Beach is not bad, pool looked ok as did the outdoor area under the coconut trees. The breakfast on the top floor was good, they had good omelettes and fresh fruit. Very average serial, only instant coffee. View of beach was pretty good.

The price paid for the rooms reflects the standard of the hotel. We thought the food from the restaurant was good and the staff were very friendly but we found the bar selection inadequate .

Nice hotel in a good location
Nice little hotel right on Nego,bo beach, staff are all lovely and accomodated an extremely early check in for me which was greatly appreciated! Food is excellent and very reasonable priced compared to some of the other hotels I'm experiencing - try the seafood platter, delish! Rooms are clean however could do with a freshen up (coat of paint on walls & furniture and some pictures on the wall would do wonders!) bathrooms are modern and clean, a/c and bar fridge work well. Pool is clean and a nice touch as the beach is not a place I would go swimming - would stay again

Nice and relaxing
Quieter location towards the northern end of the beach in Negombo but still not too far from the action if you want to eat out or wander around town. The rooms on the beach side of the hotel (sea view) are best - lovely and fairly modern - the cool breeze rushes in off the ocean and you can easily relax on the balcony or down on the sand near the pool. My check-in was smooth and friendly and the hotel cleaning and bar/restaurant staff were all very nice.

Wonderful hotel and lovely staff
We stayed here at the start and end of our trip to Sri Lanka, 6 nights in all. It felt like a home from home and we really enjoyed it here. We were very happy to stay here and all the staff looked after us really well. Ruwina and all the staff were so friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again if we came it Sri Lanka. Thanks to all the staff for making it a wonderful stay.

I arrived and was greeted with a a free drink then taken to my room which was extremely clean and spacious and had a view to die for. hotel staff are friendly and will do anything to help. the hotel is on the beach has a good pool also. well worth a stay
