"When I arrived at the property, despite me canceling my previous reservation, they were confused as they saw two reservations, and even after me showing that I had canceled it, they still gave me a hard time. They should have better communication with the booking agency so that this does not happen to someone else in future. The room was OK but nothing spectacular. "Such a beautiful and special place. Just be aware that it’s a bit rustic and because it’s close to the swamp, there are a lot of insects at night. But if you stay inside and don’t mind roughing it a bit, this place is such a great experience and unmatched views and environment. Amazing owner and staff, always so eager to please. Even cooked us a fabulous dinner!"

"This is a large hotel and there did seem to be a couple of large groups staying there but this did not detract from our experience. Nice rooms with everything you could need, water readily provided. The pool is ok but the selling point for it is the fantastic view of Lions Rock. We ate in the restaurant on the first night and the buffet had a good selection of food to suit all palates. Breakfast was excellent, you can choose Sri Lankan or more western options. Plenty of choice. Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel."

"An amazing place with expansive gardens with many pathways to wander along. The lake surrounded by mountains is stunning. We saw two types of monkeys in the garden. There are two pools, one near the huge bar and restaurant and the other at the edge of the property looking over the shore of the lake. The rooms are huge and clean with comfortable beds. The staff are so friendly and helpful. They will pick you up on a small golf buggy from your room and drop you back when ever you need. The food is delicious and so much variety. It's a huge luxury complex work so much to offer! A thoroughly wonderful stay- we booked an extra night so that we could spend time in the hotel grounds to enjoy it as we spent so much time sightseeing outside."

"We accidentally found this fabulous hotel due to sudden change of our vacation plan. Hotel is located in very calm quiet area within 10 km from Sigiriya local ticketing office. We had an unexpectedly wonderful time in the hotel. The staff were very welcoming and supportive. Hotel has two well maintained pools and beautiful restaurant. Room and the whole hotel was very clean. Foods are so delicious as well. Highly recommend for couples or anyone would like to spend true relax time before or after climbing the Sigiriya rock. This place deserves more than five stars. I encourage more locals to explore these beautiful places around the country."

"Beautiful place! It’s a little bit secluded which is great as it’s not noisy but you can still get to the main activities very easily. The rooms are spacious and clean, and the pool is such a treat when it’s a hot day out. The staff were all very helpful, pleasant, and attentive. The front desk helped us book a tour during our stay for the same day as we had a bit of time leftover and no plans. The breakfast buffet was excellent- there was a very friendly lady cooking the egg hoppers right at the buffet area everyday so they were very fresh. All in all, I would definitely recommend staying here!"

Only negative was the fact we were staying in low season so there was only two other sets of guests but for some reason the hotel put us all next to each other so you could literally hear your neighbours every move.
