"No English speaking or want to speak staff on site. Very unfriendly front desk staff. Wed. City is mostly closed, including all restaurants. Hotel did not inform guests and were not prepared. We did eat at their last reserved time at Chinese restaurant, which was terrible and not our choice for dinner. Only thing open. Breakfast was same almost everyday. Not fantastic, but do able Water was clean but not too hot. We will not return."

Nestled deep among tall trees, this property felt like a hidden sanctuary with its open air onsen, welcoming staff, and superb dining. Amin was exceptionally helpful during our dinner and the front desk went above and beyond to help us navigate an alternate path back to Tokyo after we found out all trains out of Nagiso were cancelled due to rain. We were looking for a room with meals, but left feeling recharged in body and soul."
