"We got off to a rough start when a brief municipal power outage caused the water in the shower and sink to stop. It took two engineers a couple of tries over the course of 15-30 minutes to get the water restarted. We were told ours was the only room impacted. After getting that sorted (they did find an open room where my partner could complete their shower) everything went smoothly. Room cleaned, amenities refreshed daily. Very pleasant staff. EXCELLENT LOCATION. I would highly recommend"

"Staff were very friendly and accommodating, hotel was central, clean and comfortable bed, only downside was we booked courtyard view room and we had a view of the lift from a tiny window. No other windows in the room, so basically had to keep curtains closed the full time as everyone could see in our room when waiting for the lift."

"Location is pretty good, close enough to either go on trips, explore Valletta and near restaurants, bars or those wanting more excitement Paceville a short walk. Be prepared for building work, it’s not horrendous, just a fair bit happening in St Julian’s and very nearby. Staff stand out at the hotel in every aspect, very friendly and service with a smile everywhere, including booking taxis. Hotel is 5 star which at night looks lovely, maybe like some reviews said a little dated in the daytime. Rooms are well serviced if a little dated again and Spa is great. Think over the 4 full days we stayed in an executive room, we visited the executive lounge for snacks early afternoon and drinks/nibbles every day; there was an Indian lady, I think Pria? Her smiling face, general conversation made it so lovely to go there. There’s more choice for breakfast in Fra Martino and we managed a table outside every morning. If you like sun bathing by pools, with bars at each it’s perfect, we preferred the Lido and still received an occasional drinks service, There is a small sandy beach though in the bay if you walk a few hundred metres, just expect it to be busy peak season. Debated whether to give it 4 or 5 stars not due to it needing refurbishing a bit, more down to the advertised sea view. My main negative it was a side sea view at best sat on the balcony of 517. The photo showing the sea view is standing up and turning 45 degrees, sat down it’s a nice view of car parks and housing hmmm"

"Breakfast was good, enough choice and hot. Need bigger cups for tea though. Rooms are reasonable once you get the right fit for you! we changed ours on arrival as 1st one offered was dated and shabby with no view, we were shown 3 rooms and settled for the 3rd, but still a bit shabby. Pool terrace is small and beds cramped together giving very little space. Small rooftop pool but adequate to cool down and very clean. The area is a great location to get everywhere but the streets are run down. All in all, even with the disgruntle, I would return!"

One suggestion would be to move the tea and coffee making and juices to the lounge to make more room in the serving area as the breakfast area is quite small. "The hotel has an excellent location in Valletta. Central but quiet. The staff are very caring and are anxious to please. They are very good at making recommendations and suggestions. The room was very comfortable with all the necessary amenities. Breakfast was made to order with a good selection available. We had the hotel's private chauffeur for the day who showed us things about Malta we would not have been aware of. As part of this the hotel organised a private wine tasting at Ta Betta vineyard which was lovely. Overall we would highly recommend the hotel."
