"After hours check in was flawless. Room and location were as advertised, this is a bonus as Morro downtown and Embarcadero are a very short walk. Parking stalls are a bit tight but manageable, larger vehicles best on the street. Now to the only hiccup over a 4 night stay. Turned on the shower/bathtub water and no hot water, no bueno ! So thankful the superior room has a standup shower as well . Front desk and Maintenance staff jumped on the issue the same day. Excellent service over the Labor Day weekend should not be overlooked. Overall could not have asked for a better weekend, will most definitely stay again."

"We had a wonderful stay! The staff were absolutely amazing—extremely helpful, friendly, and always ready to assist with a smile. Our room was very clean, comfortable, and had a beautiful view. The fire pit was one of our favorite spots to relax after a long day and make s’mores together. But the best part for us was the beautiful walking path, with gorgeous ocean views and lovely gardens. It was the perfect place for a peaceful walk or some morning and evening exercise. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and especially appreciated the wonderful staff, beautiful surroundings, and relaxing atmosphere. Highly recommended!"

"The room was great, and the front desk staff was very helpful and friendly. The view of Morro Rock was beautiful! The only thing I would mention is that the rooms are not very soundproof. We could hear and even feel the footsteps and every movement from the guests upstairs, which was quite noticeable from our room. Overall, the stay was great! We really enjoyed our time here. :)"

Masterpiece Hotel

"No A/C! The room did have a slider with a balcony so we were able to leave the door open at night. There is a small fan in the room and a ceiling fan. Strangly there is a humming noise outside that sounds like a cellphone on vibrate. It drove us a little crazy trying to figure it out. Not sure if it’s a fog horn or what but it was annoying as heck during the night. The location is great and within walking distance of everything without being on the main drag. The breakfast was just okay. Oatmeal and breakfast sandwiches. Bathroom was typical shower over tub with adequate privacy. The hotel is charming and staff was friendly enough. I think I would stay here again"

"The staff were nice with the early check in. Unfortunately they were overbooked and so we got partial view of the ocean instead of our full ocean view room. Room was clean and bathroom was nice. The room had one mini fridge and a microwave which we used to heat up left over and store our water. Noise level was okay other than the humming of the fridge. Will stay here again in the future. Location is convenient to bars and coffee shop. Thank you for having us. No pool."
