"Let me start with the positives; the food and afternoon tea were absolutely fantastic and the positive feedback ends sadly Negatives; unclean and mouldy pool and spa area, never enough staff to assist and huge delays in response. Waiting staff extremely helpful although clearly overworked and under staffed. The whole experience which should have been a treat was awful. The room provided was dirty and again filthy. The living areas and reception rooms were freezing and on request for the fire to be lit I was informed that as the chimney had been swept it would not be lit. In the end my family and I left and did not stay the night. Even at the end there was no reception staff to advise and I had to leave the key on counter!"

"This hotel is very convenient for Aberdeen railway station. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, although the temperature controls didn't seem to work in my room. A very good selection of items were available for the breakfast buffet. All the members of staff I met were very friendly. I will certainly stay here again."

"Beautiful building in a fantastic location. The rooms are spacious and the bathrooms are large and comfortable. However, the overall cleanliness could be improved — the carpets and some furniture surfaces did not seem thoroughly cleaned, which was a bit disappointing. There is a good independent restaurant in the building, although the service was quite slow. The fitness room is rather limited and could also use some improvement. Overall, it was a pleasant stay, but with better attention to cleanliness and maintenance, the experience could be much better."

"On arrival, we were not told what breakfast times were or where we could get breakfast. We asked about parking which we had paid extra for in our room to be told it was free at weekends anyway. We had paid for pool access on the room but were not told of where this was or how to access it. As it turns out, the pool and gym are well attended by locals and we barely got a chance to go but a timetable would have been helpful. Food was excellent in the pub and grill as well as at breakfast. We paid for extras in the room such as Nespresso machine, water and sweet treat. We only got one biscuit and upon asking for a refresh after night one, they did not top up the water nor did they top up the sweet treat. Shower was amazing as was the the king size bed. Great location."

"The hotel hotel was nice, the room was more than adequate and the staff were great, my only complaint was it was close to a bar/club and you could hear people shouting and laughing on the street and the faint thump of music."

"Location was ideal for train and bus access. The hotel is old and the rooms are old and in need of updating but our room was clean. The common areas (reception and restaurant) were updated at some point. They do provide a nice breakfast and food was fresh and hot. Staff were very pleasant and helpful "
