"The Intercontinental Lyon was an excellent choice. Clean, luxurious and comfortable, the location was central and there are about 6 restaurants on location that were all good options. Breakfast was pricy, but there was an excellent pastry shop around the corner where we went to breakfast. Theodore was the best restaurant on location and they also have a Michelin restaurant at the hotel. Price was reasonable for the stay. "This is still my favorite hotel of all time. Firstly, the hotel is a beautiful and historic property. All the little details take you back in time. The views are incredible. Of course the restaurant and breakfast selections are great too. It feels like such a luxury, from the bedding to the tub. What really makes the experience is the staff. "This is the perfect place to stay to see Lyon from up above. We enjoyed the short walk to the Basilica and Roman theatre. We also took the funicular down to the old town for crepes and ended up staying for dinner. We wouldn’t have know about this without the team at the hotel. The breakfast was lovely, but a bit squashed in. But this is the case in a historical building. "
