It was easy to walk to the coast or old town center, or take a bus anywhere else. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel offers a convenient and quick laundry service. The room was comfortable and clean although it was on the smaller side. Breakfast included a variety of food options and was reasonably priced (it was included with some reservations but not mine). Overall I had a great experience.

Badly aged hotel. Disappointed.
We thought it was a 4 star hotel, but in reality, it's like a 2.5 star property. First of all, all the facilities are outdated, with only one elevator working when we stayed. The walls are full of cracks, and they don't even provide a single complimentary water bottles to a customer, which I've never seen in my life in a "4 star" hotel. Being inside this aged hotel is quite depressing as well. The only good thing about this hotel was the centric location, but that's it, quite disppotining experience.

Great location , horrible staff
The location is great , the value is excellent, rates are probably very low because of the pandemic , all the staff aside from housekeeping, could use a class on “ hospitality business 101 “ there were times I thought I was invisible , they either ignore you , or they are just rude …. Room was ok and for this price I don’t complaint the only problem the bathroom sink didn’t have a p trap and every night had to plug the sink , to avoid sleep with sewer odor …come on a simple cheap fix ….

The rooms need to be updated.The bathroom smelled of urine. The carpet in the room and hallway smelled. The bathroom door handle was loose. The hotel lobby and where they had the buffet breakfast were the only yhings that looked updated. The staff was not friendly or welcoming at all.

Great location Great Service!
It is a great location walking distance to many museums, the old Montevideo and restaurant. Service was great, Maid derive outstanding. Comfortable bed and pillows. Nice diverse breakfast.

Great location, great service
They are very helpful at the desk and held our luggage so we could go on an overnight to Colonia. They told us we’re to get a plug so we could plug in our phone and are very pleasant to deal with.

Nice and clean but quick shower
shower ran out of water had to hurry and finish like it was on a timer. Also I was running behind and called to get a one hour late checkout at noon and the were going to charge me $30.00

Good centre location, decent price
The Crystal Palace was a in a great location in central Montevideo for walking to the various plazas nearby and just a 25 min walk to the Old City and the Mercado del Puerto. Three of us shared a room so it was tight but doable. Upon entering to check in the front desk staff seemed uninterested in assisting us, and initially provided just 1 room key for three of us which didn't even work. The free breakfast was okay but the area never seemed to be serviced quick enough so there were always tables full of dirty dishes, tables without silverware and napkins, and empty plates on the buffet with no food. Aside from these inconveniences we enjoyed the stay, especially the location.

Had a good time. Hotel conveniently located only 20 minutes from Carrasci into airport. Friendly staff and provided free parking in a safe place.

Good basic hotel; hits all the basic prerequisites. Only complaint is the lack of non-smoking rooms; the smell of cigarettes is very strong and the only solution offered is a spray to cover it up. Bit of a sewer smell in the bathroom as well.

A nice and quite large room with a large bathroom. My only complaint is that there is no shower door, which can cause a lot of water to get on the bathroom floor if you're not careful.

Crystal Palace
The Crystal Palace is an excellent choice for a stay in central Montevideo. Very spacious and well appointed room, excellent facilities, free wifi, very good breakfast buffet. The hotel is very well localed on the Av. 18 de Julio, -- one of the main thoroughfares of Montevideo and a main bus route. Modest walk to the historic old city and to other important sites such as the Plaza Municipal, Teatro Solis, Plaza Independencia, etc. This hotel is also excellent value.

A good hotel with breakfast in a great location
I loved the bed and bidet. The room was smaller than I thought it'd be. The complimentary breakfast had a variety of foods. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. I'd recommend this centrally located hotel.

Una noche para el olvido
En nuestra reserva consta que la habitación debía tener una cama queen size. Al hacer el check in, advertí que eso no se respetó, pues me dieron una doble con dos camas separadas. Solicité el cambio y se me informó que el hotel estaba lleno y que además en la reserva que les mandó Hoteles.com, no estaba detallada esa preferencia en el tipo de cama. Les mostré el correo electrónico en el que Hoteles.com me confirmaba la reserva, pero insistieron que eso no estaba especificado en la comunicación recibida por el hotel. La atención de los recepcionistas es pésima, su disposición para solucionar los problemas a los huéspedes es CERO, tanto en el turno matutino como en el nocturno. Solicité la intervención de un superior pero me lo negaron.

Estuve solo un par de días y el uso del hotel fue poco, aún así debo decir que todo fue muy bueno, la apariencia del hotel muy cuidada y agradable. Limpieza impecable. Desayuno completo y muy bien atendido.

O atendimento no check in foi correto e cortês. Os problemas começaram quando nos levar ao 5 andar (quarto 506). Ao sairmos do elevador ja sentimos o cheiro de mofo, o andar todo carpetado, mas em péssimo estado. No quarto a situação piorou muito. Tentamos mudar, mas so conseguimos no dia seguinte, tivemos de dormir da janelas abertas para suportar o forte odor. Mo dia seguinte mudamos para p 6 andar (quarto 609), parece que recentemente reformado e sem carpete, e o restp da estadia foi ok. O café é bom, sem luxos. A localização permite facilidade de deslocamento, por ficar a meio caminho entre a cidade velha e a area mais moderna e badalada )Pocitos e arredores). Localizado na area mais central, com os problemas das areas centraos de grandes cidades, mas não tive qualquer sensação de insegurança, andamos com tranquilidade tanto durante o dia, quanto durante a noite. Recomendo pedir para ver o quarto antes de encerrar o check in.
