Love the location, the staff. The hotel is a bit outdated and could use some TLC. I would come back, however.

The place seems to be mismanaged. I had to sleep u see my coat for four nights because there was no blanket in the room!! Actually, there was, but it only covered half of our queen bed! And no matter how many times I asked the staff said they would bring it and never did until my last night when they kept bringing it - three times! I had to put a no disturb on the four to stop them from coming. The elevator did not work either. The key stopped working every day. What a mess!!

Upgraded room was good but room only set for one person but booked for two people - one set of towels, one mug, one glass. Despite repeat asking every time the room was cleaned it was set back to one person staying. Got very frustrating asking the bar for glasses everyday and making do / waiting for additional towels.

Hotel Berlin is a great choice for it's location as it is on great bus routes to various areas. We visited at Christmas and had a family room which was very spacious. With 2 sons aged 13 and 15 we had a separate area with 2 single beds which was separated from the main bedroom by a curtain. We did book a Superior room. Bathroom was great as was the shower and fittings. Showergel, handwash and shampoo/conditioner smells lovely. Bed was comfortable but the quilt was slightly too small for the bed and the pillows uncomfortable. Coffee machine was a great addition and the TV size great. Always cleaned really well. Gym and sauna area is great. Breakfast was lovely worth booking when booking the hotel, plenty to choose from and staff very helpful and friendly. All in all a great hotel and we would stay there again if visiting Berlin. 3 restaurants within walking distance of the Hotel Berlin and I must mention in particular Restaurant Ambrosius. Superb german food cooked beautifully.
Very friendly and helpful staff who spoke good English. Berlin is definitely worth a visit so many things to see and do. A very positive experience. Thanks to all the staff.
