This is just a special hotel that is peaceful and inspiring. The artwork is tremendous, and the history of the hotel is really what makes the experience even better. The rooms are quite comfortable, and the simplicity of the design is relaxing.
Fabulous example of yesterday working for tomorrow sharing uniquely StPaul history with visitors. Convenient to primary downtown event locations and light rail; sightlines to state capitol and cathedral hill.

A perfect humble retreat in historic convent room
I’m a fan a hotels with character, and this one does it!
Right off the bat, you can tell it’s an older hotel that could use some repairs, but the building has lived a full life with many stories. Oh, if those walls could talk!
I’m not taking off stars because it’s an older property. I knew that going in.
The room was spacious, and clean. The staff were friendly, helpful and just great. I’m also a sucker for a “free” breakfast.

Wonderful experience. Clean room, friendly staff. Staying in this lovely old nunery is a breath of fresh air compared to the same old, same old commercial chains! Will definitely be back.

Beautiful building and furnishings. Sleep like a baby. Great location next to the Fitzgerald Theater.
What a great spot. My son and I were in town for the Wild game and I found this hotel using the Expedia search. Got a suite with two fully separate bedrooms, a living room and large washroom, for the same price as most others were asking for a two queen bed room! The building is a converted nunnery from the early 20th century, and they've done a really nice job of it. Included a nice breakfast and small gym. Staff was great as well. Parking is not included, had to park at the adjacent world trade center parking lot, but it is not too expensive there over the weekend (or alternatively, there is free street parking if you can find it). Will return when next in town!
The hotel is wonderful. The history of the property makes it a fun place. It is a close walk to a lot of restaurants and entertainment. However, the property sits near homeless shelter and the neighborhood draws a lot of individuals who are struggling with mental health and drugs. Therefore, walks in the evening did not feel like a safe option. It did feel fairly safe during the daytime when downtown St. Paul is busy with people. *I want to emphasize the property is great but be cautious when traveling outside the location.
