"I am just going to give this hotel an across the board score of terrible because they were unwilling to refund our money or give us a credit. The dates of our stay was just days after the unrest due to the killing of the drug cartel leader. The area was a level 3 travel advisory. Cruise ships made the decision not to stop in that port. Airlines were still flying and hotels were open but of course they were, they just want to make money. They don't care about the safety of their travelers. United airlines was willing to give us an airline credit but we lost a lot of money on the hotel. I think this was a very bad PR move on behalf of the hotel. Because now no longer will we never give them our business but we will tell our friends and family about our bad experience. When we learned we were not going to get a refund we tried to gift our stay to someone else. No one was willing to take a free stay in Puerto Vallarta. So we went somewhere else but kept our reservation at the hotel. Since we were not going to get our money back anyway, we at least wanted to prevent the hotel from booking it to someone else and earning double money on it. "
