Spacious 1 bedroom apartment with full kitchen. Generally clean, except the air vent in the bedroom which was covered in dust and lint. Good value.

When I first arrived after seeing some disturbing people I questioned whether they had security and video surveillance. There was a very nice man at the counter I think his name was Ryan and he assured me it’s safe. After one night I found out that they have a contract with the hospital and some people stay at that hotel but they put them all at level one. The next night I was really itchy only to discover there were bed bugs. Again the nice man come up to see if he could resolve the problem and offered me to move rooms. We then went to another room where we discovered mould on the bed head. I was disappointed and disgusted. By this time it was 12.15am. I checked my self out and asked for a full refund. Sometimes you can’t trust ratings and photos of properties

The rooms were quite nice, bed was large and comfortable. Great, large shower. The parking was easy to get to (although there are a lot of road works around the area at the moment), but not easy to understand where to park and with no access card it was a clunky process to just park the car. The lift didn't work and the stairs were locked, so checking in and just getting to our room was extremely frustrating. We were then woken to an evacuation alarm at 5.30am which turned out to be a false alarm. We got a last minute deal, so the price was good, and as mentioned, the rooms were comfortable, but it was definitely a bit a Faulty Towers experience.

Reception staff were friendly and helpful. The first room we checked into needed painting and also had a bad cigarette smoke smell. I mentioned this to reception who were most apologetic and moved us to another larger room. Initially I thought this room was better without cigarette smoke smell but after being in the room for sometime a smell of stale drain water was evident. Also the cleaning standards of the room was poor. The shower drain outlet had quite a bit of hair in it, the couch had a white stain on it plus there were cigarette burns on the bedside and main table. The interior of the room could do with a good paint

We stayed for the night to go out in the city and the apartment was great, good size, bed was comfy, good location easy to Uber to and from, paid the $20 for onsite parking. However, the shower did have some hair on the wall from the last person, the rest of the room though smelt like cleaning products.

DO NOT STAY! What they don't tell you in the fine print is that they use level 1 & 2 as accommodation for outpatients from mental hospital, prison release, homeless etc. We were travelling with young children and didn't feel safe getting into the elevator or walking out of the hotel as we had to step over the drug affected people to leave the hotel, ask the group of men who looked to be doing a drug deal to allow us to pass. When i asked the hotel if they used the hotel for any other purposes then paying guests they said yes, when i asked why this information wasn't disclosed to guests they said everyone is equal, on our second night we were evacuated for someone smoking in the shower from the lower levels, at one stage i was alone in the lift with other guests from these floors, somehow we missed the ground floor and ended up at the basement to be greeted by a person sitting on a motorbike as the doors opened, everyone else knew this person, i quickly pushed ground floor and we went up again, i ran out of the elevator. If you search the reviews you will see there is a petition to have the hotel stop this type of accommodation. They should at least disclose it to other guests and let us decide if that's the type of environment we wish to be subjected to! Not Happy

Well, apartment unit is rather new but needed some form of maintenance, i.e. broken toilet cover and clothes hangers, etc. Housekeeping services would need to improved also. Otherwise, everything is OK.

Nice new hotel room was clean and nice but the television reception was terrible so bad i couldnt watch it, was charged extra 30 check in an hour early and told id have to pay another 100 to have visitors past 11pm, certain staff on reception werent very welcoming

Well presented studio room.
Overall it was a nice room, very well presented and clean. Staff were all friendly. However we had a fire alarm go off at 12.30am (no apologies in morning) and our balcony door lock was broken so pliers had to be used to ‘lock it’ which doesn’t seem safe (no option to get outside room to balcony in case of emergency). Premium studio room views were of the road works going on.

Staff were friendly & helpful. First impressions were unappealing, dirty entry, sterile foyer. Prior to coming, l had requested a secure parking space. Cars were stacked.. mine wouldn't fit, l was asked to leave my keys, so as staff could move my vehicle, l declined & parked in on the street, an Isuzu MUX, so not a huge car. Staff refunded my parking fee. Room was clean, balcony door couldn't be locked, tv had screen damage. AC not very efficient, & had a notice on its screen, saying filter needed cleaning. Good close proximity to City, staff very helpful. Issues with fire alarms, previous night guests had said alarms sounded 3 times during the night, all false alerts, happened once, whilst we were there. No instructions for tv, or information on premises or local information. Price was reasonable, cleanliness & helpful staff were the positives.

Room first looks amazing then you notice the cracks/dents in the walls and the marks all over the ceiling. There was a 1:30am ‘evacuation fire alarm’ screeching through the hotel. We grabbed the bare essentials and headed down the 3 flights of stairs. Owner/manager was at the front desk and just looked at us all without a word. We stood out on the street in our pyjamas while the fire brigade checked it out. Was a false alarm which apparently happens on a regular basis. Again, nothing from the manager. No apologies, no explanation, NOTHING. Appeared to also be a ‘half way house/ emergency accommodation’ with those guests asking us for smokes ect. We also had to pay an additional fee of $20 per day to use the hotels parking. Parking on the street not an option as it was blocked off for road works. Only 1 very thin doona on the bed. No information folder on how to use tv, heater/aircon ect. No toilet roll holder so we had to reach up over and behind our heads to get the roll off the shelf. Not good for people with shoulder injuries. Definitely won’t stay here again. We got zero sleep after the ‘evacuation’.

Room was clean, spacious and good value for money. Walking distance to Clarendon St, Botanic Gardens, Southbank etc. The front entrance/lobby doesn't give the best first impression, but the stay itself was fine.

City Edge in South Melbourne was very clean and comfortable. It was easy to find but a bit difficult to get to the front door because of roadworks once finished it should be okay. It is close to Melbourne and their is trams close by so you don't need to take the car out all the time.

Great room and amenities. Not anywhere near soundproof. Doors slam, rather than soft closing. Other noisy and inconsiderate patrons meant poor sleep. Need notices in rooms regarding keeping noise to a minimum.
